Agree with Javascript. It's sad that it's the most widely used language, and if you want a guaranteed job you probably need to know it.

I don't mind Python the language. Code written in Python tends to look clean, probably largely due to the fact that whitespace is part of the syntax. Scoping rules are weird at first, but only because you're used to the scoping rules of C-inspired languages.

What makes developing in Python great though is not the language, but the ecosystem around it. venv, pip, and pipenv makes setting up your project a breeze (for you and the poor schmucks who have to take over your project after you've moved on).

Rust is looking like it'll have all the advantages of coding in C++ and Python, without any of the disadvantages. It's definitely on my list of things to learn.

Python is poverty compared to Java on the backend

Yes you could get a noddy little app up and running quicker with django than what you might with .net core.. only to get slammed with issues when it hits production which you could have averted if you'd used a superior framework

PHP is the way to go.

A lot of people use Javascript frameworks because they come with a variety of widgets, and then Java or go mid tier.

vue is the most user friendly js framework from my experience, react just becomes a mess of jsx. not touched angular tbf so cant comment on that
