I’ve read his book, and listened to him for hours on many different podcasts. Although he’s a very interesting person and it’s incredible what he’s able to do, he’s literally just an addict that his high is pushing his body to limits for no reason other than it’s his addiction.

Overall he seems like good dude, in 2005 some of his friends died in Afghanistan and he started running for charity and raised 2m for some military veteran organization

Also ran Bosthon Marathon for 2:56 which is decent for 6'1 person.

Nothing of this can make me read his books, but I can see his books can kickstart a life changing process for some people until 97% of them give up after the second week.

I read his first book. While interesting to read what he did and has gone through I find himself an a$$hole. Multiple failed marries and never hear anything about his kids. Can only imagine he is a dead beat dad.

Then after reading the book watch some YouTube videos from other seals and basically he didn’t do anything.

Yeah I dont think many are claiming he is some saint. I am just giving him his due respect in the area of mental conditioning. I learned quite a bit from his perspectives there that I apply to my own life now. I dont think we were putting him up for father of the year.

He's an intense dude no doubt. And he has pushed himself beyond his breaking point many times. To get recycled through seal school multiple times without giving up is insane. A lot of things he does are insane. Which is why I'm not super interested in reading his book. It should be called Diary of a madman.

IMO he's one of the more genuine and legit personalities in that whole motivational / self help industry not that thats a high bar or anything.

I am curious though to see how his body will hold up going into his older years.

This. He's done some amazing things, but his schtick is pretty damn tired now, & he's ultimately just glorifying his addiction. If he was actually gonna do something "hard", the man would take some college courses or write a book without entirely relying on a ghostwriter. I wouldn't be surprised if he couldn't even read a full book.

Again, he has done some incredible things, but he's essentially pro ana for men. Stay hard, don't be a bitch, don't take rest days, etc. I've known anorexia victims who ran marathons, fasted for days, trained for hours per day while earning a PHD, and did other "hard" things. A lot of women envied them until the wheels finally fell off. Everything with Goggins is just done through the lens of his addiction to running. A book from him was warranted, but I don't see the need for a sequel.

Downplaying his time in the SEAL's as "a recruiter" as opposed to an "elite soldier" is definitely **** talking.

He did tours in Iraq and Afghanistan and has a Combat Action Ribbon which is:
For a military member to be awarded a Combat Action Ribbon evidence must establish the member engaged the enemy, was under hostile fire, or was physically attacked by the enemy. The service member must have demonstrated satisfactory performance under enemy fire while actively participating in a ground or surface engagement
It's basically like saying "Dave isn't a cop, he sits behind a desk all day in some **** warehouse, probably in evidence control, miscing all day and has never even gone on the street"...which very well could easily be true about you, but it would be a weird assumption to make and certainly considered **** talking.
Survival. When the jungle tears itself down and builds itself into something new. Guys like you and me, we end up dead. Doesn’t really mean anything. Or, if we happen to live through it, well that doesn’t mean anything either.

No. Did I reference you specifically?

I'm talking about the guys deliberately undermining his accopmlishments because they don't like him or something. It's always funny how betas feel the need to bring someone down to their level. Usually men that have never done anything in their lives worth noting. Always lol when people can't say like "Yea that dude is intense and accomplished a lot, I just don't like his schtick" or something like that.
