Maybe because criminals deserve death in most cases, while a regular cop going to work does not. Not sure I've ever heard of a divorce lawyer getting gunned down so not sure why you would throw that in there.

Who would elect to be a cop at this point? Going to be funny when things are lawless enough to the point where Leftys start buying up all the guns. You can see them all starting to bitch and moan on the Portland, SF, LA Reddit now that it's starting to effect them. It's why the gun control discussion is out of the news cycle besides schools, they are all hypocrites.
