Well good luck trying to "eliminate Sony and taking all its customers" via...uhh...maybe attempting to make CoD PC/Xbox exclusive. Let me know how that will work out. Also please list all those cool IPs that will allegedly be exclusives. I'm sure people will fork out 500+ bucks for another console just to play shooty shoot.

Mr business person should look at what MS is actually attempting to do: trying to get Game Pass on all available platforms.

and when sony refuses game pass, what happens?

You simply dont understand how much bigger microsoft is. If they want to kill sony they have the money to bleed them bone dry.

COD is the biggest game on earth. MS isnt stupid. if it comes down to it and xbox is the only place to get it, sony is dead.

Do you not realize how big call of duty is? If it was an exclusive game it would literally be the most system selling oriented game to ever exist.

People will absolutely buy a new console to play cod if you consider that it would most likely be on gamepass for free, and gamepass will net you hundreds of other games to play for free also. Most people will spend 500 dollars on call of duty alone between 2022 and 2023.

Consumers are dumb, and when they hear "omg cod is free on Xbox and not on ps5 anymore?" they will buy xboxs.

This is a situation where Microsoft will say anything until that huge deal goes through.

Not like my anecdotal evidence is worth much but I have had two friends who maybe play a total of 20 hours of games per year, both just buy new series x and a 100 dollar copy of cod in the last week

Sure man, any day now and Sony will keel over. Maybe MS will just buy the whole company since it's just chump change for them.

Again, CoD won't turn into an exclusive due to the minor thing that PS is by far the largest platform for it. I know it's hard to process, but it is what it is.

And I'm sure PS owners are stoked for Lame Pass with its endless amount of indie crap and shovelware.

Microsoft's goal is software as a service. They announced yesterday that they lose $100 - $200 per every console sold (series s vs x). They reclaim the money with game sales and subscription services.

Now imagine they bring COD to playstation, as a gamepass required exclusive. They can sell gamepass, without losing any money on console sales. It's a huge win for microsoft, while playstation forks the bill for the hardware.

there are people who will buy a console just to play one game... there are people who buy PCs just to play one game..

microsoft just wants EVERYONE to subscribe to gamepass, they don't care if you own an xbox, a nintendo, a sony or a PC.
