The left is already crying foul over fact checking, trying to call it fascism and anti-American and so on.

Funny how it suddenly became (D)ifferent when the fact checkers started fact checking democrats.

Way too many employees for a fair simply platform. Twitter has not changed in years. He is going to run a lean business.

So he's gonna charge a monthly fee for the verification badge, and fire half of the employees. I'm starting to think he bought twitter purely as a business decision and not for free speech

Elon has never been about free speech or swinging the pendulum. He's an autistic degenerate that drums up publicity to gain whatever advantage he needs in order to pimp his business and maximize profits. I don't hate him for that, I think he's borderline genius and am enjoying seeing him make libcucks like NYFat have an aneurism over "b b b but Elon Musk hypocrisy!"

Twitter didn't make much money to begin with. You don't become a billionaire by running a business that is bloated. He can turn a nice profit while keeping free speech.

If they actually ban the bots, that has to cut 97% of that entire sites traffic

I think he's trying to bring the people back to the social media. Obviously bots make a huge portion of activity, but it's all just a waste if no real humans are involved.

It takes some kind of balls to be about the richest person in the world, pay a crapload for a business like Twitter, come in and start firing off most/all of the heads, then announce firing about 1/2 of all total employees. No opinion on it one way or the other because I'm not informed enough. But I would worry about security - out of all of those people fired, certainly there are going to be people who really hate him and would love to get back at him.

Funny thing is the lefty tech companies killed all Twitter alternatives before they could get any momentum. Be a good while before they can make a viable place to flee.

Same guy helped build Paypal and has been launching sattelites into space to improve global cellular reception for all humans (not only specific countries).

He has also convinced an unfathomable number of stupid people with disposable incomes to fund self-driving cars designed for disabled people and people who cannot legally drive even if able to.

I believe it is safe to say he knows how to make money.

By the way, Uber (one of his competitors), bought an autonomous trucking company not long ago also, hints of him having global control to some extent were given during The Honkening.

It's to be expected, given what he paid. Needs to be profitable quick, and trimming the fat in this economy makes the most sense and is quite reasonable

Watched a video of some Twitter employee going over "a life in the day of a Twitter employee". She spent the entire video going around to the cafeteria, playing table games on the roof, going to meditate etc... I'm not shocked that half the people who worked there were expendable.
