Medellin is probably safer, but not by much.

I spent some time in Colombia, about 3 months. It's really going to depend on what you're looking for. Sex tourism? Colombia. Hands down. Looking for a girlfriend? Toss up. Looking for general tourism? Just avoid both. srs.

Colombian women from the lower classes tend to look at gringos as automatic boyfriends even if you're just talking to them.

Be clear with your intentions. If you only want to smash, be up front about that. If you want to smash and plan on faking long term interest to be able to smash, it might end badly for you. Colombia has strict laws, but they are rarely enforced. Cross the wrong person and chances are you'll get fukked up or even killed. ded srs.

This might change very soon for you. I think the UK just dropped the tourist visa for Colombians so it should make it MUCH easier for Colombians to go there.

Hooking up with girls is not going to be worth the hassle. Colombians are not as slooty as non-latin western cultures. You'll find sloots, but they know they can charge, and it's legal, so most turn into opportunistic prostitutes.

If you're looking for a relationship or hookers, Colombia is really the GOAT. If you're looking to hook up with randos, it's awful. Would not recommend/10.
