Beneil Dariush Shouldnt fight anymore unless he gets title fight



ive seen many fighters mess up and kept fighting when they earned the rights to a title fight and end up getting caught

sucks for benny, he's on an 8 fight win streak and deserves it. but volk has cleaned out his division so they want to market a "money fight" and having a potential champ-champ as the seller. But we all know Volk is gonna get rekt bc he is too small.

Assuming Islam fights twice a year, it could be a year till he gets a title shot. And benny based on his interviews "loves to fight" will likely take somebody else. He shouldn't bc he deserves a title shot but he likely will.



Petr Yan took a risk vs O'Malley and paid for it, even though he wasn't going to get a rematch with Aljo. But still, he's one win against the top 5 away from another shot. All I know is he should never fight 3 round fights. Aljo will likely be fed O'Malley (Aljo is just gonna submit him or GnP him if we're being realistic).

It's always a tough position where a fighter tries to balance activity, money with being able to fight for the title. You need fame behind your name.

Bantam is pretty interesting at the moment. I think Merab will take the throne soon and we've got Chito Dorito who is knocking on the championship fight door as well. Umar vs Merab would be a wild slugfest. Maybe Merab will fight Chito for the belt contender after Sugar has had his chance next year.

tbh, it's not a bad strategy, calling people out, get your name out there. if he gets some exciting wins/victories over Poirier/Chandler, that's more eyes on him and a bigger payday. he still gets paid regardless but if he loses a belt is out of his reach.

I was very impressed with him vs Gamrot. He's one of those fighters who is much better than they look. He probably beats everyone in the T10 besides Islam and Olives.

Yup. Even though there aren't any immediate contenders in either division, a loss for Volk would ruin his legacy somewhat and Islam just gets a victory over a smaller guy out of his weight class.

Super fights are meant to be super.

Volk vs Islam is not a super fight. I'd be surprised if Volk even makes it to the 3rd round much less the championship rounds. He's just not big/long enough to hang with Islam.

don't think it would ruin his legacy. based on the fact that everybody knows that Islam is way bigger and stronger than Volk. No shame in losing against somebody who dominated Oliveira. If anything it's Islam putting his legacy on the line if he loses lol. Nobody expects Volk to win, it's zero risk to him.

to me TJ vs Cejudo was more of a superfight on paper with both putting their legacies on the line (both roughly the same size and realistically could fight in each other's divisions; and had that mystery of who would win although TJ got rekt, lol).
