Started boxing - any tips
Hired a guy at a some gritty boxing gym in Toronto… 90 doll hairs per lesson … going every week
What a humbling experience, realized I’m spastic af with no athleticism or conditioning
I look like an absolute disaster throwing a punch … right now I box like Elaine dances in the hit series Seinfeld
But any tips? Should I get a boxing bag for my condo and practice on my own … just trying to become an absolute unit in all spheres of life

You will get into the annoying habit of throwing hooks in the air all the time so a bag would be a good buy. Your trainer will teach you technique. What you need to do on your end is build up your gas tank. No better way of doing it than shadowboxing a few 3 minute rounds.
When you get a bag, do 1 bag round, 1 shadow round, add as many as you can.

Most practical advice is just keep showing up. You're not gonna get good overnight. I've seen people make drastic changes over the course of 6 or so months but they go 3-5 times a week, maybe 2+ hours.
And as a beginner there's always the temptation of buying all sorts of gear but in reality, there's about a 99% chance that its going to be sitting in the closet collecting dust after a week.

Show up and be consistent with training
Train often out of the gym and practice techniques at home
Relax when sparring and training techniques
Don't be afraid to get hit(Comes with practice, you will need to get hit a few times first)

Listen to your coach, assuming he’s good
Get yourself a maizeball (you can make your own) for home & a punching bag if you can make that work
Shadow box
And start to spar ASAP
Edit: don’t hesitate to ask questions at the gym, the vast majority of people are eager to help

When your opponent trows a punch. Move.
Then trow your punch. It’s actually pretty logical.

Stick the tape gun to the box on the one side and when you reach the other, give it a twist so the serrations slice through the tape
Good luck. I've always felt like warehouse work would suit you better than sales, brah

Marry yourself to it on your own time as well. If you think your conditioning needs improvement, then start developing a running schedule and do roadwork (or run at your local track) so many days during the week and build yourself up. Most pro boxers run for a reason.
