PC ideas needed (srs)

I have the urge to step up my media and gaming setup. Right now I just use a PS4, but while I was considering a PS5, it might be time to go PC instead. I have a 12 year old Lenovo with a PNY GT240 graphics card (yes 12 years old as well lol I used for surfing the web, StarCraft 2 and Warcraft 3 era games. I kept it around since I didn't want to throw it out, last time I used it was 3 years ago for nostalgia (also have Pharaoh, sim city for ancient Egypt, fooking GOAT) and a couple other games. Obviously I plan to play modern games like Cyberpunk, Elden Ring, etc.

My question is am I better off getting a whole new setup, or do I have good bones to work with and just replace the graphics card and update the hardware? My PC specs are

CPU: PDC E5800
HDD: 1T
Ram: 4G

According to the sticker on the side of the computer. It's in good shape, and it still works, I just don't know if it's worth building off of.

Keep it as a nostalgia box but it's worthless to upgrade. Your motherboard is too ancient, power supply out of date, even the case itself is most likely worthless due to ancient connectors.

I recently refreshed my circa 2017 box that had a core i5 in it with a rtx2060 and 32gb of ram, and that's all I would ever waste on it. $200 video card and $50 worth of ram. Oh and a m.2 pcie drive.

It will play any current titles fine at 1080p but it's worthless to upgrade because the cpu and mobo are too dated. It's much better to start a fresh build at that point.

I figured it'd be better to just replace it. I've been out of the PC world for years, but I figured I'd ask. Thanks for the info.
