If you were looking to change careers, is it better to go all in and quit?

Assuming you are looking to change careers with no crossover skills...

What's better?

Option 1:
-Quit job
-Full time schooling as needed
-Look for job full time
-Live unemployed life

Option 2:
-Keep job
-Part time schooling after work
-No free time

We're in a recession, and the layoffs just started this quarter. Keep your fukking job.

Yeah this is a good point but at the same time I sit at my job thinking I'm just wasting my time here. Time spent not benefitting me at all...

Depends on how old you are. What responsibilities you have. What your debt to income ratio is. How much you have saved and how long you can go without employment. Etc.

Mix the two options together...

Move back home, keep your job, go to school full time and pay as you go.

Don't be a pussy.

Late 20s-early 30s, single, no debt.

Depends what you are going for in schooling.

What do you do at your current job? Can you move up? Stressful? Sucks? Etc..
