Michigan will become next California...

Democrats just got control of the House, Senate and Supreme Court for the 1st time in 40 years. Somehow... Gov Whitler was reelected. Michigan will become the next California/NYC...

Michigan bros... how do you feel knowing this is your future?

Maybe.

I doubt it though OP. There are some areas of concentrated poverty that surely tilt hard left, but something about hard cold winters seems to keep extreme leftism in check. I can't imagine the yoopers embracing wokeism. Or rural MI in general for that matter- too much direct contact with nature to embrace delusion.

I feel like MI used to be "labor left", meaning pro-union but also pro business. De-industrialization has pushed some more towards "dependency left" but there are still a lot of productive people.

It's a shame they are saddled with a lot of legacy debt and expenses due to poor management and some big declines in population stemming from the loss of manufacturing. Detroit still has a good location. Too bad the city has stupidly high taxes which have resulted because they have been struggling with covering those legacy expenses with a smaller productive population meaning each taxpayer is carrying a larger burden while city services and schools suck which drives away even more people.

I still think it could turn around with a strong visionary leader and strategic investment. The city has to make sense for workers and businesses re:affordable fair quality housing, safety, services and taxes.

My suggestions:
Build a wall around Madison, let it be its own island state
Give Milwaukee to Illinois as “upper chicago”
Merge the UP of Michigan and the rest of wisconsin, leaving Detroit and the rest to rot

They should just make Detroit its own state. ded fkn srs.

That chithole of a city ruins what otherwise is like the Florida of the north.

Outside of the college towns or other chitty cities like Flint, Muskegon, and Kalamazoo, the state is pretty red.

Something like 80%+ of the taxpayer money from the state goes to Detroit. They also make the decisions for the rest of the state. Legit surprised there hasn't been a secession.

Michiganders about as cucked as canadabrahs.

Um, last I checked there were 48 Republicans sitting/elected with 1 more TBD (Alaska)

and 47 Dems (46 + 1 Independent caucusing with them).

And 4 still to be decided (Arizona, Georgia, Nebraska, and Nevada) with no decided party.

Senate not in Dems hands right now. And last I checked, this is even more true for HoR.

I'm talking about the Michigan House, Senate, and Supreme Court. It's been 40 years since Michigan has been fully Democrat control... now no one is there to stop Whitmer.. expect California 2.0... reading comprehension just once

WTF are you even saying? The GOP is projected to control congress and the senate is still up in the air. The propaganda machine of the media is also wrong about saying the election was a totally disaster. IDK what they're trying to accomplish, but the GOP gained a bunch of new seats in congress, some they haven't held in decades. Only in the clown world gaining seat and the majority is a totally failure, because it wasn't a total domination of 30-40 seats. (Ded fkn Srs)

BTW if anything Colorado is the next Cali.

Interesting. However, still a Democratic President, and a nat'l Senate that stands a very good chance of being split 50/50. There are also Michigan's various municipal governments, so there are still checks and balances.

Would you like to elaborate/speculate/forecast/vent?

The only seats up for grabs are Arizona and Nevada. Georgia is a runoff, hopefully Trump doesn't fukk that up. If he announces a presidential bid before December, Georgia will go out of their way to make sure Walker loses. It's currently 49-48 GOP. (Ded fkn Srs)

You forgot Nebraska, although still not 100% a done deal. Ben Sasse, last I checked, was still the only Finalist for the presidency of a University in Florida. IIRC, he accepted, although not 100% sure of the latest. If he does accept and begins the job, then there will be...some sort of election, right? The people still do have to vote, right? And the Republican Party doesn't own that election, right? Just because Sasse is a Republican doesn't automatically mean that once/if he vacates, that a Republican will replace him.

Last I checked we didn't have any crazy lootings or protests like MN.

Far worse places than here, but keep thinking that and stay out pls.

Didn't chili peppers make a song called in Michigan or some chit? Every song about Cali, and then one about Michigan. Supports your point op SRS.
