Excellent movie. Built up tension like a mutha and the ending did not disappoint.

Barbarian was also very good, but the ending dropped it 1-2 points/10 for me.

Barbarian goes a really mainstream way of doing the last act of a horror movie. Usually just all in action. Thats why I feel the urge to turn off most of the horror movies towards the end.
Smile tho, while it does have alot goin on in the end, it still really good at staying creepy and holding on to that eerie atmosphere.

I liked barbarian but...Spoiler!
I feel like it duped me into thinking I was watching a legit horror movie and just ended up being basically satire. I wanted something more serious.

.Yeah not sure why they decided to go full retard with the ending. The end was basically a comedy. Should've kept it dark and creepy/scary.

Thought it looked sh!t, TBH. I don't really like this new rush of horror movies. I think most are connected to "A24" or something, but they all seem like really small ideas shot with a tiny, nonexistent budget that then get marketed with overwrought terms like "elevated horror" so anyone who points out they're kinda bland and uninspired for horror in terms of concept, visuals, and music can be shouted down.

Why are people so fixated on facial expressions? Is it the aftermath of social media culture and people's obsessions with selfies and lip-syncing? This broad isn't creepy, she is annoying to look at. Hated the marketing for "Mother!" too. Made it seem like the entire movie was just close ups of Jennifer Lawrence's face. Sh!t looks terrible. Is it to appeal to zoomers? I don't get it. I swear there was more care and effort put into one special FX gore shot of an '70s or '80s zombie flick than these entire movies in the 2020s.
