This is what sucked about the last GOW, you'd fight those large troll guys or whatever they were but it didn't have the epic feel of the boss fights of the previous games.

From what I've read, the main game is about the same as last game, but doesn't take difficulty or side questing into account. I plan on doing most of the side quests this go round since this is the end of the Norse GoW saga.

Ehhh it's a mixed bag. Massive gentrification of this town, when I was a kid it was crappy. Half the town is ghetto now and half is rich af. The town is also 200 years old founded in early 1800s so alot of buildings look very old but are nice inside. /NJ history.

This sign is like on the side of the arcade building. In this pic you can see the corner of the "yestercades" storefront sign, this is the actual front of the building and the street it's on. Downtown has music events, food truck events, and car shows every weekend. This is what it looks like on any given Saturday. The arcade is fairly big and has a ton of games and systems

Tbh if you're a socialcel this is an awesome place to live near. Personally I love the old look of the town.

things start to mix up quite a bit the more you play

and just lol at not being able to solve these puzzles

i can understand sometimes you might get stuck because there's a lever somewhere that you can't find etc

but the puzzles themselves a 12 year old could solve

they pace the game a lot better, if it's just combat it gets tiring

I've heard things mix up a bit, but I didn't look into it as I don't want to be spoilered. Excited to play, but can't play as much as I want as my wife just started GoW 2018 recently and I can't play ragnarok when she's in the room. She's right before the last fight with baldur, but decided to explore the extra realms first.

Don’t much care for the gameplay but the story seems so high quality compared to most games. Every single line has so much thought and weight in it.

I think gameplay is solid the same more enemies better puzzles but overall the story is so improved. And every line is heavy and pure as many of the lines I used to snort at a party lol. I love this story . And the banter between my favorite trio not Named Sly, Bentley, and Murray. Kratos, Atreus, and Mimir. Mimir is a card all on his own. I hope he gets a spin-off game. Dude At least!!!

LMAO!!! Ok bro you've got to be fuking chitting me. The "puzzles" in the game are extremely simple. I was easily able to do all the puzzles in the original GOW when I was literally 11 years old, & I'm an impatient kunt with off-the-charts ADHD. None of the 2018 puzzles took me more than a couple minutes of thinking. If you're not tolling & the "puzzles" were walkthrough-worthy challenges that made you ragequit, then you're legitimately retarded.

I don't know how many hours I'm in. I'm praying not many in the grand scheme of the story line.

I've been trying to resist the urge to play non-stop because I don't want to be done in a couple of days.

So far it's great.

Feels bad man all the smackdown talk on people not being able to solve the puzzles.

Have to admit I had to youtube someone solving one of them so far haha. Misc have mercy.

I Just left the tower that has the light with the Light/Dark Elves.

If they made a Thor movie with this dude - based on the first interaction alone from this game - it would be the GOAT Thor movie by far.

10/10 game I am confirmed ... I finally finished it.

- Combat was excellent and improved upon the first game in a small, but nice manner

- Enemy variety was insane, with a lot of enemy variations and good number of minibosses

- Boss fights were amazing as well, though it could have used more bosses imo, but still improved upon the 1st game

- Story was extremely engaging, amazing voice acting, and narrative (it had some few strange choices, especially some characters sound too modern which takes away from the setting/immersiveness) game gave me quite a lot of feels too

- The sidequests are much more fleshed out and add a lot to the story and well worth playing.

- The level design was pretty damn good, it has the same metroidvania feel, but because the game is divided into hub-zones (realms), it feels a bit disconnected from the masterfully created Lake of Nine in the previous game. That feel is still here in this game, but it feels a bit disconnected because the overall scope of the game is bigger.

- The variety of levels and locales themselves is pretty fukkin great, some of these locations are jaw dropping

- The pacing can be hit or miss, at some points it drags on, but when it gets going it really gets going.

- The story is very much a slowburn with things taking time to fully develop, but it all pays off in the end.

- THE UI is aids and even worse than the previous game lol

- The gear/transmog system is pretty meh as well, not much improvement from the previous game imo, but maybe at harder difficulties it matters more.

- Sometimes there's too much combat, honestly, like at points I thought the game could have just let me do my own thing, or follow the story narrative, it mixes in random combat just for the sake of keeping you engaged and padding playtime. I think they could have balanced this better.

- Graphics are impressive as hell on the PS5, and this is one of the best looking games out right now on any platform, but it's still very much held back by previous gen constraints.

- Dual sense implementation is very very meh, it's only there for some parts .... Very disappointing because I thought they'd do more because it's a showcase game for the PS5 (even though it really is just a ps4 game i suppose)

- Amazing end to the series and cant wait to see what they do next.

Overall, this game is vastly improved from the 1st game, people that had issues with the 1st game will see a lot of improvement on that front, but also the things that they didnt like was doubled upon, I have a feeling the game will be a bit divisive amongst players and as usual you'll get the bitter trolls trying to talk chit about the game without ever having touched it, but the sales/reviews/user impressions speak for themselves.

No other game is this grand or epic, or takes you into a magical world that's just begging to be explored or awed by. The only thing this game suffers from is replayability, with the inability to skip cutscenes and some pacing issues, I dont see myself playing this game again until years from now lol, unless they do a ton of new updates/content (which I doubt).
Sig line can't be a novel

I'm having acrazyhard time defeating one of those guys who appear when you stick the sword hilt into the stone.

Are you meant to leave these guys and come back to them when you're much further advanced in the story and therefore much stronger?

I'm legit not even coming close to getting half of this specific one's health down.

I think I've beaten 2 or maybe 3 of them so far, but this one is just absurd.

This sounds about right.

overall its largely the same game. Combat is very similar, some buttons/combos remapped, and some new combat techniques presented. They really just built this one off the last...which is perfectly fine by me. 2018 GoW was a masterpiece, and they didn't have to change much if anything. I'm just waiting for them to release a New Game+ mode so I can replay and unlock a bunch of new cool ish like I did with the last one. Finished this one in about 4 days, at least the main story, in about 30 hours. still have a bunch of side stuff to do.

Those are Berserkers, this game's version of Valkyries. P sure they are endgame content, especially the one where you have to fight 2 at a time. I've only beaten one so far.

Ah yep that makes perfect since now you've likened them to Valkyries.

I couldn't beat those b*tches when I came across them last game during the story.

I checked last night when I played again and I've beaten 2.

It's funny because the fight with (don't know how to do spoilers so I'll try to be as non-descript as possible) - the guy with the pink eyes - was so, so, so much easier than I expected.
