I was doing 225x10 within 3 years now I'm weaker after the gyms pissed me off over COVID and kept shutting down unexpectedly I did 2 years of bodyweight exercises now I'm back to 225x6 and 205x6 incline bench. The answer is not everyone takes it seriously but yes I agree 3 years of srs lifting you should be at 225x10

Even if you dont take it seriously, you can lift 2 times a week and hit upper and lower on day 1/2 and maintain that chit with ease.

Exactly why I started lifting again. Every man should bench working sets of 225, period.

Dumbbells supposedly equal like 17% lower weights than bb so more like 95-100lbs equiv.

What should every man be squatting and deadlifting since you’re the authority, OP?

Because noobs don't know how to program and men are too arrogant to realize they don't know what they are doing.

Besides a 300 lb lift is a lot for smaller people.

What program helped you make the most bench gains for everyone ITT who can hit 225x10 clean?

I used reverse pyramid to make the most progress. To peak I used Smolov JR.

I would use 4, 8, 12 with 30 lb drops each set.

Assuming you are using a 3x5 program now at say 240 working sets.

230x4, 200x8, 170x12

Move up every lift 5 lbs each time you do it. (2x per week) Once I got stuck I would reset with DB incline press and then rotate back.

Now my working sets look like this 310x4, 280x8, 250x12

I don't know dude, how come some people who have trained for 3+ years still can't do bw + 70 lbs for 8+ reps in pulllups?

It's almost like people have different strengths and goals.

OP can you even lift 225 once?
Going down on your cousin is like a non alcoholic beverage. Tastes the same, but just isn't right.

anyone with a developed back should be able to do that. if you train a body part and get strong, there's gonna be some level of crossover strength. After 3 years you should have a decent strength base.
