Any trivium fans?

****in loved this band as a teenager up to ascendancy, named my dog heafy. Met the band and saw them live a few times. Good dudes, Matt didn't care I named my dog after him though ****in lol.

They changed it up after this and I quit listening but they never quit being one of the most talented bands around.

I didn't like their new sound but **** they are the best musicians around and I've never discredited them for that. They remind me of Avenged Sevenfold, some of the best musicians around but they strayed from what their fans like.

I guess they just evolved.

And of course gnarly a7x whom I think trivium can fight for best musicians. Both bands have great musicians with history.

Love them. I saw them live for the second time earlier this month. Great show.
They're probably my favorite band along with parkway drive at the moment.
I like them much better than a7x though.

So you like their "newer" ****? Anything after ascendancy to me is them changing direction from where they started. I don't hate them for that cause they progressed and all got more talented at what they do. I don't like how the they did a complete 350 though and completely abandoned where they started from and those fans.

Love parkway though, love how they progressed metal without knowing how to actually play their instruments. They get better every album.

I like Avenged cause I know how good each one of them are at what they do. They are like trivium, masters at what they do. Best of the best, and Avenged only came about by accident almost. Growing up in their area I hear they're good dudes too, if you like to party.

I remember playing the crusade, when I was 18 i think, in my buddies parents guest house. I remember playing this exact song and no one liked it and wanted me to turn it off. Left to go get a girl and came back and drank beer, good times.

I get bored with them too, they're so technical it's boring. That's a main reason I like they're early stuff.

Love trivium

It’s one of the bands that made me pick up the guitar and I grew up listening to in the mid 2000s

They still got it that’s for sure

Matt’s looking like krillin nowadays lmao

Saw them live a few times, but they had opening acts that put on better shows lol. "68" and "Avatar" we're tough acts to follow in terms of energy and performance. I dunno I think after listening to them for a while, their guitar solos and songs started to sound the same.

All those bands are good except Hollywood undead

Just because they’re not “trve cvlt” enough or don’t talk about flesh rotting on bone doesn’t mean they aren’t metal

Idk, I have seen them live a lot of times and they always kill it. I've seen them live at the glasshouse in so cal, a smaller venue , where heafy will go off stage and play right next to you or he'll get the spotlight on you and stop playing if you aren't throwing the devil horns in the air, I've also seen them many times at festivals like ozfest and they always have a huge crowd even if they're 2nd stage and gnarly circle pits.

No, not at all. I distinctly remember making fun of trivium back in high school because of their bland metal they'd create. Maybe I was a judgmental prick and they're not as bad or they improved, but it's hard to go from Opeth to Trivium.

good to who? 17 year olds? cuz thats what MAINSTREAM is directed towards. i do like earlier hatebreed (satisfaction, persaverence, brutality) but they fell onto the mainstream wagon as well but hey thats where the money is right? dude doesnt even say lamb of god who were in their prime those years he listed. they too fell into mainstream. havent changed since desolation.

not sure wtf “trve cvlt” is. im into hardcore punk mostly. a little bit or thrash and groove (max cavalera)

How the **** do you like thrash or groove metal and hate avenged sevenfold, atreyu , trivium or KSE ?

Get your ****ing ears checked because that’s 100% what it is instrumentally. I’ve been playing guitar since I was like 13 and I know a ****ton of A7X, Trivium and some KSE songs.

Lol @ punk. You’re literally ripping on good technical bands for being “mainstream” when a lot of punk has poppy chord progressions with only 3 power chords if that. 99% of punk is extremely mediocre music. I literally can’t get into it no matter how much I try. It sucks.

Sorry you got bullied and stuffed in a locker by someone wearing an ascendency or shogun shirt lmao.

i mostly dont like the lead vocals of those bands or guitar tones from what ive heard and whats posted. high pitched or soft vocals/guitar = not metal to me. Also the lyrical content has to mean something. hardcore punk is typically anti tyranny/authority/stoic/angry type of lyrics. i relate to that more than trash or groove which has a lot of visions of war, dark and depressing subject matter type lyrics. metal doesnt have to be technical to be good it just has to be high energy and hard. Make you wanna move.

i said hardcore punk not punk nor pop punk. big difference. if you dont like hardcore punk how can you even say you are a metalhead? oh wait how are you even a metalhead listening to those metal bands made for the radio, LMAO

do you go to local shows or just wait for the big sponsored events?

This just came out 2 months ago. Sounds ****ing awesome to me. Rather listen to this on repeat than any Slayer or Megadeth album.
