That was just normal, nothing to overthink. McDonald's parking lot years ago was packed of guys hanging out in their kitted out cars revving their engines literally all day. We would drive past and wave out the window, the guys weren't thug/gang wannabes, just nice guys hanging out. E.g, me and my brother would just walk up to them and he'd talk about their cars back when my brother was 14 and I was even younger. If we did that now, we'd be filmed or put on social media (since talking to strangers is now outrageous), plus, their cars would be **** anyways and the scene wouldn't exist since nobody hangs out. Hate this era.

Some of it still happens but there was definitely something a lot more special about the 90s and 2000s.

Society changed, social media gave a voice to all the loud, unhappy low IQ people who push conformity and all that. I hate sounding like one of "those" people, but yes, the PC culture has ruined a lot.

Yeah, there's just no image with new cars, they look and sound boring. Like the other guy said, you had to build fast. Ie, know your **** well. Now a clown can just buy a kitted out car online with no clue on the power it holds (in this era, low power, all electric, HAHA). I remember one of our holidays was built around my parents going to random areas for rare parts. Fun adventures and the spice of life by exploration that doesn't exist anymore. It's pretty sad when you think about it. Everything is instant right now, so boring and low energy.

People now use that as a serious concept and never have true life experiences since they've brainwashed themselves into thinking they're living a full life behind a screen indoors. Exactly, read above about my encounter with heaps of guys and their cars. They weren't freaks/weirdos, just regular guys hanging out in their spare time. Now car meets are just creepy ugly outcasts with garbage vehicles. Not even interesting people since they are terrible at talking.

Where did u drive ur S2000? I remember this guy at the garage took us out in one of those just to speed over the speed bumps. **** suspension and this was the rare case where speeding over a speed bump made it 10x more noticeable haha. (Usually if you go fast enough, you don't feel it)

Yeah, definitely and not definitely. Remember films from each era try to adapt to the culture at the present time. A modern example would be some ***ggot ass new show and the characters being ugly and fat using smartphones texting all day which is an accurate representation of now.

The Fast and Furious 2001 means that they tried to pull off the car scene in a movie format for pre 2001ish. Also remember that most people laugh at how movies depict modern times. Which means that movie was probably a softer version/wrongly depicted version of that era. That also means that the 90s-2003ish was even more hardcore/culturally rich than what was shown.

Man, I'm constantly looking for older footage from that era. It's just perfection, every day I watch loads of this epic stuff.

But yeah, definitely made people more aware. The cars/girls/music was already out, they just mashed it together and created a masterpiece. Fast and furious after 2009 turned into a typical action movie, not great, so yeah.

Epic sentence and I agree because it is true, modded cars was a huge deal back then. These guys were either 15 or dads at age 40, didn't matter since it looked epic for everyone. There was this guy back then that drove to his desk job in a kitted out 95 silvia. Like this but with a huge **** off spoiler/green neon lights underneath/wide body/hood and roof scoops spitting flames with stars vinyls etc. He didn't stick out, why? It was because everyone in our area was like this.

The s2k meet usually did Ortega Hwy or Mount Palomar. Would be a cool 50-100 mile loop. Had one guy wreck two cars over the cliff. Somehow survived both. Everyone tried to keep up with the guy ahead of them, and that definitely could be dicey.
