Wouldn't it make more sense to tip the chef, not the waiter, at a restaurant?

It doesn't matter how good the server here, the experience the customer has is all dependent on the quality of the meal. The chef makes this amazing dish presented perfectly, but I'm supposed to tip the waiter for being able to carry it over to the table successfully?

Kitchens typically get a small portion of tips.

I worked in a kitchen long time ago and sometimes the customers would demand to be able to tip the cooks.

Sort of. Working in a kitchen sucks ass, so they should get tips if the sloot waitresses do.

Chefs get a small tip out typically, and the head chef makes much better money than the other kitchen staff or servers.
