So waiters/waitresses are the main folks who don't need an education and can make a great living will be the ones getting screwed over the most? It's one of the few jobs where a single mother can provide for two kids without the dad or government intervention.

Not one person is going to report this and the IRS is literally so understaffed they're praying these extra tax funds will allow them to hire more agents.... in other words there's no one to come after you since they need you to report the money in the first place to be staffed properly... lmao I was like lmao

Yeah exactly. My point is that this $600 audit thing is not designed to pay for all of these new IRS agents and anyone who says otherwise is just hiding the true purpose—further eroding whatever privacy citizens have left

Lol you still believe this nonsense after seeing the results in November? Cuckservatives keep thinking if things get reeeeal bad then the idiot women who vote for these people will just fold. Most people are retarded and will sell their vote for a month of food stamps or a jelly donut after leaving the poll.

Theres no fixing this country at this point.

So I assume it works the other way too right?

If I buy a used Civic for $6k and sell it later in the year for $5k I get to report a $1000 deduction in my taxable income right?

Fukking hell this is a huge step in the wrong direction.

So you are saying I'm never getting my tax refund then? I tried to file electronically and the system wouldn't let me do it because I didn't file the prior year.

As I've now heard it described it forces you to prove that you do not run a small business if you receive $600 or more for the sale of goods or services.

Per my new understanding it applies for 2022.The volume is very low on this video for some reason.

^^^
He says this rule came into effect on January 1 of 2022.Also claims that it only applies to payments made for "goods and services".

It looks like he has made several videos about it.

I think this is the original from January which he references in the video I've embedded above:

Sounds like this is going to be a clusterfk. So, >$600 triggers a 1099-k that you then have to report on your return as income. Then, you'll have to show, presumably on another form, what the item you sold cost. What a pain in the ass.

Hairdressers is the other profession this will catch. Lots of hairdressers under report their income.
You don't have to be great to start, but you have to start to be great.

IRS delays tax reporting change for 1099-Kon Venmo, Paypal business payment

The IRS has delayed, for a year, when payment services such as Paypal and Venmo and e-commerce companies such as eBay, Etsy and Poshmark will have to issue tax forms to individuals whose business transactions through those platforms exceed $600.

The agency on Friday said that such third-party platforms won’t have to use that threshold for when they report 2022 tax-year transactions on a Form 1099-K, which goes to both the IRS and taxpayer.Instead, they can rely on pre-2022 threshold of more than 200 transactions worth an aggregate above $20,000.
