Where should I move in January?

Just turned 28 and currently living with parents in boring DFW suburb. I have a remote job making 115k as a software engineer. Never had a gf. What city should I move to. I would like to move somewhere I can get an in office job. I want to meet girls that are wife material.

115k is poverty level in NYC and SF, borderline for Seattle. So would personally avoid those 3 unless you can at least double your salary at the next job, living a commute away.

everywhere is and no where is depending on where you fall in the 80/20 rule, either way it doesn't really make a difference tipping things in your favor.

seattle is (and that part of Washington) truly the prettiest place in the US. The food there is great, the city if well kept, there is entertainment, lots of young people, biggest downsides are costs and liberals which you get with any major nice unique city in the US now.

NYC.

115k is mediocre in NYC, but you can get a 1BR in a good area of Manhattan(Think Upper West Side, Turtle Bay, Upper East, FiDi maybe). I'm assuming you have some savings since you're larping at mom and dads right now. You would be fine with a 6 months emergency fund and a $2000 1BR. Just be sensible and save your entertainment spending for the dating scene srs.

If you have a remote SWE role, you're probably pretty good, so I imagine you could pull a 200k SWE role in NYC eventually.

Lived there for 3 years and it was the best time of my life srs. Plenty of wife material there no matter what the headlines read.

A lot of remote workers have been moving to Hawaii. It's expensive here but pretty good lifestyle if you like warm weather, beaches, outdoors, etc.

That’s what I picked but it was a tough choice between that and Denver

Seattle is ****ing beautiful as is the entire area

My sister keeps offering me to move up there with her and her BF but I know I’d never be able to afford property of my own there so I won’t do it , too expensive

Opie could probably double his salary there and chicks where easy when I visited atleast
