Sega Dreamcast graphics still hold up today

They somehow still hold up with today's games. Honestly looks better than Switch games.

Actually mind blown. I started on the N64 and never played dreamcast. But that does look good.

Loved the Dreamcast. It would’ve gone down as one of the all time great consoles if not for the PS2. Sega was just on their last legs and Sony had their number at that time.

One friend back in the day had one of these and even just the demo games were crazy to play, he had a demo of some racing game in particular

Recall the loading times being pretty brutal tho

had one that could read CD-R's. You could download and burn and play any game for free. was goat.

Its graphics were really sharp, PS2 looked washed out and blurry even though it had more horsepower.

maybe it was something on the analog circuit for the video out, idk.

I remember reading about it in gaming magazines back then. The games looked very good. I wanted one, but I had N64/PS1/PS2 instead like most other people.

Dreamcast is the GOAT system in my mind along with N64. System was so amazing and soooooooooo criminally underrated.

fantastic system, was ahead of the curve for sure and had so many underrated titles

Virtual On was prob my favorite on that console but DOA is still my fave 3D fighter to this day

Didn’t they have some chip that scaled up?

If I remember correctly it’s the one console that had every bus open for you to wire into for adding HDMI or other things. Maybe that’s what I am thinking, the video out can be put into aftermarket chips and scaled up. It has been like 10 years since I looked at any of this stuff.

Xbox locked everything down and raped the entire gaming industry like an 11 year old girl on Little Saint James.

My younger brother had burnt a whole bunch of games for it. Still remember playing some college football game on it that was really good and some game called Shenmue. Graphics were great for the time.

It's amazing seeing the leap in technology we had going from mid-90's tech to late 90's/early 00's tech. 00's tech in general has aged amazingly well, like some FPS boosted Xbox 360 titles look impressive on the Series X.
