The east coast is the taint of America

Talk about a grey, gloomy chit hole. It’s an endless forest of the ugliest trees I’ve ever seen in my life.

Pair that with the ugly, old, rundown and outdated architecture and arguably the WORST accents on this entire planet..

You couldn’t pay me enough to live here dead srs

The northeast yes. The southeast is really nice in some areas and ghetto in others.

The whole northeast is a chithole. Any time I’ve been there I can’t wait to leave.

Where I live in NC things are pretty nice. I drive north of DC and other than NYC and Boston it's godawful depressing aesthetically everywhere even when the weather isn't schitty. Every house is all aluminum siding, almost all middle class neighborhoods look the same or worse than the ghetto areas in my city. They're behind the times. About a decade ago I was driving around in the western NY area I grew up in and I swear it felt like a time warp, everything was stuck in the 70s to early 90s. Visually, the music on the radio, restaurants. Much of the same for my time in the midwest. The east coast could use some more color on its buildings (including houses) and more versatile design.

"Outdated & ugly architecture" is fake news

Architecture has been getting worse not only in appearance but in rigidity for the last 100 years

There's a reason structures are still standing from 500 years ago while today we have 30 year old rentard buildings/bridges collapsing

Contemporary is fukn ugly with it's flat lifeless minimalistic styling; same goes for automotive

Bruh nobody wants to live in a 1000 year old house that’s 10 feet wide and 80 feet tall with rooms barely big enough to fit a recliner in.

Must be out your fukin mind.

The west coast is full of homeless junkies, rampant unprosecuted crime, sheeple voters and far left governors that don’t give a fuk.

The east coast has its problems but I’d never live anywhere else.

I'm sure they were fine when the average European dude was 5'3" and weighed 130 pounds. I always got a kick out of visiting homes of the Founding Fathers, with recreated beds in them. A big bedroom, a bed no one over 5'8" could possibly sleep in.

You just described some inner city ghetto & more fake news

Older homes are generally larger on more land

A friend of mine just bought a 6-acre lot w/ a 4,800sqft early 1900's home that's been completely updated for the price of a new 1600sqft ugly shack in the nearest city

It's beautiful with large balcony's & lofts, wood live there in a heartbeat

I haven't been to the east coast in a long time but have found it interesting looking at homes when passing through a community. I believe I can get a sense of when was the last time the town had some wealth resulting in a building spree.

Many people are moving away from blue states, such as in the north east, so can imagine many homes there are older now, more run down.

what state or states are you talking about?

its pretty interesting. the original 13 colonies were all along the east. and yours or someone elses comments about boston/ nyc just makes me think of industrialization. because of the population boom - mostly due to geography - e.g. europe to nyc, that's where most of industrialization is going to be. it's interesting to be there at the forefront then make those industrial buildings. but then kinda have to live with them

kinda like how nyc has a lot of industrial modern

I'm from Massachusetts I hate the liberals but new England has some beautiful areas. White mountains, cape cod national sea shore, Maine, Vermont. Ideally if I could throw western Montanas mountains onto the northeast that would be my ideal landscape but overall we have some great areas. Would you rather live in Oklahomas dust bowl or live northeast?
