SRS thread - I love being a dad

I know all the cliches and memes. I know the world is chit, and who knows where it's going to end up.

But I love being a dad to my little girl. She's almost 2 and changing so much day to day. It's wild to see the development of a human, animals though we are - and to see the bond form between parent and child. No religion or spiritualism attached to this, just in awe at nature. Also, amazed at the protective feels I have gained - literally couldn't give a fuk about anyone else except for her if it were to come to it.

She's the reason I got out of the military, the reason I didn't take some opportunities that I had there - and I feel like I made the right choice. If I only have limited time here, I'd much rather spend it making sure she knows that I care about her.

Who knows them parent feels?

This man - the misc, men in general, and society is SO completely absorbed in their own narrative that they forget that the things that make us human still exist all around us - we just have to be active participants in those things in order to feel them.

So many "2012 cHanGeD eVeRyThInG" threads. Maybe so. But maybe it's just that we've allowed ourselves, hook line and sinker, to buy into the new way, the new dopamine rush, instead of buying into moderation of all things available to us. I'll tell you, an hour with her feels like three compared to an hour of scrolling through bull****. Just my observation.

My daughter is 17 months and I WFH half of the week just so that I can spend more time with her. When they start to walk and talk, they are just really fun to hang out with.

We have to go and feed the duckseveryday, as shereallylikes them. I can't wait to get her a puppy.

The only dangerous thing about an exercise is the person doing it.

They had the technology to rebuild me. They made me better, stronger, faster......

She loves our two dogs. I never give them too much breathing room even though I trained them myself. Mine's favorite outdoor animals are the squirrels we see on our neighborhood walks.

If your misc age is correct then I wouldn't wait that long.

There are some really hard parts, but some great parts too.

Like Christmas? Hopefully you have some good memories around the holiday from when you were a kid.

Then when you are a grown up it can be fun, but also a lot of work or obligations, loneliness even.

Getting to do stuff that your child enjoys? Seeing them excited? Happy?

It's fun to be the mama.

IDK if I'll ever get to be the grandma. Still I've already got some good memories from being the child and the mother.

We have squirrels and wild rabbits, but they run away from her. She likes the ducks because she can get quite close to them.

If I tear a bit of bread off, she will go over to the ducks, drop it and come back with a huge grin on her face for some more. She is limited to one slice of bread, as she would do it all day long if I let her.

She doesn't like cats.

A cat wandered over from one of the neighbouring farms and she was curious about it, but it hissed at her and put it's claws out. As far as she is concerned, cats are mean.

Nah not at all. I've had enough of my parents judging every step I've ever taken in my life, and I turned out mentally better than them. I only will raise issue with people if their child infringes on mine's space or behavior, and then only take it so far as to correct that aspect of the behavior. And then not associate with them anymore if it is an unresolvable difference. Really the way all things should be solved between folks.

The little repetitive **** that they could do for hours slays me, I think it's so funny that they can get that much joy out of a single action. Wish I could.

hey me and my wife werent even planning on having kids ever until after we got married and closer to each other, so even having 1 is going to be way more than we planned on contributing to the world, and why we are in no rush.

Best of luck m8! You'll be happy either way. That's why I'm back in the gym hard now, can't be a slouch having a wonderful daughter.

But the most important thing is how you instill inherent value in them - whether their a boy or a girl. Not the modern value system - but them knowing that they're truly cared for and valued more than anything by someone. Not everyone, like the feeling is nowz the vacuous empty social value. But truly loved unconditionally even through and in spite of their flaws.
