To OP's answer. Yes the Tattoo scene has been changed. Used to look cool last decade, however it's all cringe now.

If you have sleeves with a mediocre life/Job, people will look at you as a "Low value" individual. (automatically subconsciously )

Unless it's Military, gangs (real) or some other suited culture.

They have no meaning now. Literally every chick now has one and every dude just gets the same stuff.

What's the point of a tattoo now? It used to signify either being a warrior (wayyy back in the day), and then it became about being a rebel/outsider group, and so on. Now what? Now that every chick and pfhaggot has one....they're meaningless. It just signifies you're a trend-ster now.

I agree. Crazy how they've gone from "Badass" to literally "Cringe" in just under 10 years. Explains why so many are trying to get rid of them now days.

So why would you get paint put in your body, permanently, to resemble an art work, if it is not for somebody to see?

If you wanted to add a feature to your self, for you self, that you don't care about others knowing is there, why not integrate some internal features such as a strong character, integrity, selflessness, etc?

These are all things that will lead one to ultimate fruition as a human being, yet nobody would be able to tell at first glance.

I'm not saying to 'not get tattoos', it's your own body and you can do with it what you please - I just found it absurd that you got a tattoo painted onto you and you don't care what other think of it??

Even weightlifting and bodybuilding is very superficial, but if done correctly it will yieldsomeresults in terms of development and it can be beneficial for your health and safety.

Yeah thank fu*k I never got tattoos, because I was never in a gang or anything so it looks stupid - usually pacific islanders look good with the tattoos.

Exactly. I feel bad for like the OG guys who got them to be an outsider or part of some type of gang or something. Just look at these beta queers that all have sleeves and they look like they'd blow away in the wind or chicks that have all these tattoos and they're just annoying liberal chicks that travel and went to private school.

They mean nothing now lol.

That's what the OP means, the fact that you got any tattoos signals something to people.

The thing is I am not here to judge you, because I've done so much stupid sh*t it's hard to believe - getting tattoos was the only thing that i DIDN'T do, so yeah, you could be a 'better' person than i ever was, I dunno.

It's not really an outsider thing, it's more like 'you're in this b8tch for life' kinda deal - which it self is a red flag in people, but it's just that we find some characteristics of gangster types intriguing and interesting.. perhaps they can fit the 'hero' archetype.. etc.

Most often these people are crazy, but at least they're honest about it and show it off for everybody to see.

Didn't even notice until you pointed it out.

People want to just fit in. Look at the undercut era for haircuts. It is rare that people actually have a style to themselves or are unique in some way. Not even that you have to stand out, but to just be yourself and not follow trends like every other schmuck.

I never meant a tattoo person that was straight up janky.

And quite frankly, every time I try to talk to them. I try to break up my words into syllables and clap so they can understand better.

I feel like a lot ITT are projecting that most get tattoos just to accessorize and be trendy and attract attention. That’s not the case. Can it be? Sure. But I know for myself I hate people asking about mine. They are for me. It wasn’t to “fit in” to some trend or overcompensate for a lack of personality.

A lot of you in here just sound like miserable judgmental people. Get a grip.

BRB everyone has sunglasses and watches and all that nonsense. Tattoos aren’t even really permanent now. Sure the removal process sucks but it’s an option. I just don’t understand why you will judge someone based on what they are wearing(it’s literally what you are doing) just because you know a few dbags who wear the same thing.

Which is funny coming from people on the misc who literally followed the SS haircut trend and the Zyyzzz lifestyle trend.

Glass houses. But I wouldn’t expect a lot of the haters itt to understand the logic, considering you’re so dense.

I'm with this guy. A lot of projecting in here when this is literally a forum that fawns over certain trends, and some that can either genuinely come from being or make you into an outcast.

U are maybe a little hardcore in the way you state it, but what is true is that tattoos are social markers

Having a tattoo = lower class, low middle class at best

Hmmm u sound a little salty

Lower class doesn't mean retard or crying for attention, just people surrounded by other people with tattoos (think cashier, barman, delivery man etc..) and consuming low-tier entertainment (kardashian, reality tv show full of tattoos people). They have different role model and a different culture vs. someone with a more educated background.

Told my kids to look around at all of the tattooed women and take notice what things they are doing in society. That’s all it takes to see the truth. Told them to look at what their mother does vs others with tats do. (My wife has no tattoos and would never even think about getting one, and she’s a high level professional).

Luckily my line of work had “lower expectations” in terms of academics (paramedic, firefighter, rescue), then went in to business for myself. That said, I would not have gotten a tattoo had I known what I do now. I got mine just at the end of the era where tattoos were rebellious, band before it was trendy among white women.

It never ceases to amaze me how any type of social media has people incredibly concerned about what people do that doesn't affect them. If someone behaves in a way that degrades society or infringes on someone else's space, that's a different issue.
