What about watching the History channel or something that streams that. I used to love that channel.

Does anyone have songs they like to listen to when feeling low, to remind them of happier times?

This tune reminds me of playing GTA III in late 2006/early 2007 and working out in our big outdoor garage (more like a brick barn). Just recall those days as being overall happier and more carefree. I'll never be back there

I would say it is likely...the short days and lack of sunlight doesn't help.

Never post here but everyone should watch this;

You can change without meds, it's a mindset and you can control it. You are the placebo.

Must watch.

Yes I tend to have more of a battle with in during the darker months, taking vit D seems to help[, not sure if it is placebo or not but it seems to work for me

An issue that always exacerbates my anxiety/depression is where I live. I am not happy here and have VERY few happy memories over my 10+ years here. This is merely a building where I store my property and sleep/eat/go through the motions. I have never seen it is a "home". If I won the lottery I wouldn't spend another night here...but financial restraints somewhat pin me here. I cannot really connect with anyone around here. I live on a low-income housing estate (I am one of the few private owners) and the people just seem a bit trashy overall. My neigbours on one side will yell in the garden, bang loudly, play loud bass music until gone midnight (goes right through the thin walls and makes the whole room vibrate). The neighbour on the other side is lovely as a person, but has some noisy ass boiler/pipes or something as I am hearing constant noises through the walls which really annoy me. I just dread coming "home" and turning into my driveway. It can be worse in the summer with semi-feral kids running round in the street, hurling stones at cars. Unfortunately, they always seem to congregate outside the property of my problematic neighbour next door. If this place burned down, my ONLY concern would be financial/material loss.

It doesn't matter in the worldly scheme of things, but if it gives you any amount of joy or pleasure or even a temporary respite from misery then it is worth doing.

There are a lot of things in life that may not matter but are good to do because of the joy and personal respite they may bring. Never let anyone discourage you from doing those things. I have some of them that nobody understands but I keep doin them for me

That sounds terrible. I remember living in townhouses and the noise would be so bad. Thatโ€™s why I like living in a house but Iโ€™ll have to go to a condo soon.

Thereโ€™s zero chance you can move?

At this stage you need to be honest with employers and explain that you haven't worked in 7 years, and cannot provide employment references. Do you have any long standing friends or acquaintances you could use for a reference (preferably a "professional" person) who would agree to provide a reference?

Find your happiness inside. If you expect to find it in the world, you will be disappointed.

It's hard to find it in clown world when people just socialize. I try to find happiness by planning and doing fun activities on the weekend like going to NFL games or sailing where people aren't just arguing about politics and talking about Netflix.

It has been a STRONG year. Ended up in a psych ward after trying to off myself, couldn't even do that without ****ing it up. Had been doing a bit better but the festive period has been pretty rough. Hope everyone is doing OK.

Yeah, that sucks. I avoid discussing politics or social media bull**** as much as possible.

What do you enjoy doing? Figure that out and do it. And find people with similar interests.

Oh no. I'm so sorry! It's not worth trying to do that. There are so many stories of people ending up in wheelchairs and horrible things when they can't do it. Plus there is so much in life to live for.

Why are you the holidays rough?
