So Putin tried to grab land the size of Ukraine with an army of 190k men? You must really think he's retarded. This was about Russian security - both for Crimea and for the Donbass. If he were trying to roll in Hitler style, he'd have assembled a massive army. And the nazi angle is vital here. Why not attack Lithuania or Finland? This isn't purely about NATO or democracy. It's about the growing threat of Ukrainian Nazism/ultranationalism to Russian interests.

It is not a simple land grab. It is a national security concern of Russia that you and others refuse to acknowledge. Peace talks cannot even begin to show unless Russian concerns are addressed be they real or not or any shade of gray in-between.

Azov grew due to Ukrainian national security concerns as they were a legitimate mechanism to respond militarily. Their power and influence grew in their regions of influence and all of the sudden there were nazi parades and a very clear and politically charged vein to tap for support for war among Russian citizens.

Nothing wrong with saying they have a nazi problem that grew into government organically and out of necessity. It's a start of examining the situation, even if you deduce in totality the nazi involvement is overall, not significant like me.

Nothing wrong with that perspective. They have some legit problems where that nazism blends into nationalism there and taints the patriotism pool.

Here you can see how he really views Ukraine.
We respect the Ukrainian language and traditions. We respect Ukrainians' desire to see their country free, safe and prosperous.

I am confident that true sovereignty of Ukraine is possible only in partnership with Russia. Our spiritual, human and civilizational ties formed for centuries and have their origins in the same sources, they have been hardened by common trials, achievements and victories. Our kinship has been transmitted from generation to generation. It is in the hearts and the memory of people living in modern Russia and Ukraine, in the blood ties that unite millions of our families. Together we have always been and will be many times stronger and more successful. For we are one people.

Today, these words may be perceived by some people with hostility. They can be interpreted in many possible ways. Yet, many people will hear me. And I will say one thing – Russia has never been and will never be “anti-Ukraine”. And what Ukraine will be – it is up to its citizens to decide.
Sadly, Ukraine did not reciprocate and respect Russia or its traditions. Ukraine became anti-Russia.

President of Belarus claimed otherwise

That was him simply saying the USSR wasn't so shameful. He was proud of it.

There's hardly any power in Ukraine prior to today.

Why hang on to the story that theres enough air defense to prevent complete destruction of the power grid?

Why aren't citizens being evacuated ahead of it being finished off?

It's very strange how some of you think.

Russia is planning a nothern offensive into western Ukraine to cut offf Western Supplies.

A large number of men are being mobilised, greater than the 300k originally detailed.

This is going to be a blood bath for Ukraine.

How can cutting edge brand new technology be outdated?

How can technology that has shown omre combat effectiveness than the F-35 and F-22 combined be considered ineffective.

Massive Russian strikes on the infrastructure of Ukraine. What is known so far:

The mayor of Kharkiv confirmed attacks on critical infrastructure, there were several explosions in the city, it is completely de-energized;

Ukrainian media report explosions in Kyiv, Zaporozhye, Dnepropetrovsk, Kirovohrad, Poltava, Ternopil and Mykolaiv regions;

The governor of the Odessa region reported hits on energy infrastructure facilities;

A number of sections of the railway are de-energized in Kharkiv, Kirovohrad and Dnepropetrovsk regions, diesel locomotives are put on the routes;

There are power outages throughout Ukraine. In particular, Kharkiv and Poltava are completely de-energized as per local media reports.

Great article by Codepink's Caitlin Johnstone on foreign policy:

https://caitlinjohnstone.substack.co...m_medium=email

"The humanity of the not-too-distant future operates very differently from the humanity of today, either because it learned to work in cooperation with itself and with its ecosystem or because it's an extinct species, yet most visions for our future imagine we'll remain the same. We need to abandon the notion that the humanity of the future will move and operate in more or less the same way as the humanity of today, just with better technology. That is the very least likely of all possible outcomes."
