Wife is #1. I have a fantastic relationship with my parents, too. They are both amazing, and I have a good high school buddy that I know would do anything for me. My kids are great. We are still in the parent-child phase with me as the benevolent dictator. The picture is from a few years ago. Each year in the fall we always feed the cows in our pasture with extra apples that fall off my parents' apple trees. The cows get conditioned to it and come running when they see us out gathering apples. My sister was visiting with her kids and one of her boys was trying to feed an apple to a cow but would get nervous and drop it before the cow could get ahold of it. I wanted to show him there was nothing to worry about so I told him, "watch this", and put an apple in my mouth. Somebody had a camera handy. Cows are pretty friendly if they've been around people and treated gently. Just a warning, they do have bad breath.

ETA: And watch out for their tongues, they are super long. The offside of my face was covered in cow slobber.

I've interacted with cows at farms and rescue events and stuff like that before. I remember the breath and that deceptively long tongue. I'm slowly working my way towards a laid back hobby farm lifestyle. I've been raising hens for a few years now and have socialized them nicely. The other day I had someone come work on my property and he was amazed that the hens just came up to him, let themselves be pet, ate out of his hand. This dude was like 40 years old and looked like an excited boy kneeling down feeding friendly chickens lol. Twinkle in his eye, big smile plastered on his face.
