The job is easy until you're stuck working hot bar and cold bar with no help during a rush. Working the espresso bar and cold bar is probably the most difficult part of the job. Just when you think it's getting easy you get some phlaggot ordering 5 drinks, each with 10 unique customizations. Karen on the other side of the counter asking where her drink is (but she only ordered 2 minutes ago), customers trying to talk your ear off while you're in the zone trying to pull shots.
You boys don't even know.
This issue is simple. The shift staffing isn't matching the demand, and it's it's not an issue of how much they're getting paid...Staffing. Staffing. Staffing.

When you are so low IQ, you think that making coffee is a high-level profession.
Everyone needs to keep in mind, most of these people are very young. College kids, people still living with their parents, early 20s Max. Starbucks is one of the only places that will pay them that much money with no experience, knowledge, or education. So, instead of having the opportunity to go elsewhere, they instead are simply coercing their current employer to pay them more.

Plenty of guatemalens who would happily do their job for less pay and do it way better without griping.
I say we give them a shot and get rid of these lazy liberals.

If the Starbucks in same parking lot as my gym is on strike, very tempted to walk right through those fukcers and buy something lol
Haven't been to a Starbucks in over 5 years. Use to go there for the frappachinos. I just make my own at home for 1/10th the price.

I wish them luck srs. Starbucks shut down the store near me when they tried to unionize.
They're oftentimes overworked.. maybe they can put a cap on volume, or implement a production bonus system.
Love me a hot chai tea latte or VSCCB.

I worked at Starbucks for a bit when I was younger. We used to have grown ass men construction workers and laborers come apply as a weekend part time job think it was EZ money. They would talk chit about "real work", then would work weekend rush or two, then go outside for a 'smoke break' never to be seen again LOL. Chit is hard work, couldn't pay me enough to do it again. Takes a certain kind of person to be able to solo hot/cold bar while simultaneously taking orders through a headset having to memorize 3-4 orders at a time because you don't have 3 seconds to spare to to punch it in the system. These places are chronically understaffed and stressed tf out.

They will cut staffing and hours, but demand and business volume remains high. It eventually takes a toll on Baristas working on an understaffed floor while being slammed with mobile orders, drive thru orders, and cafe orders.
I'd love to see some of these lil boys spend a week in the trenches with minimal training. They'd be singing a different tune.

It's a real grind and a gauntlet for sure. Supervision and management is the only thing that can make it somewhat bearable and if those two suck than it's truly a miserable time.
I had three supervisors who bullied me for a while, until I started to get along really well with one when he realized we liked the same music. The comradery was the only thing that got me through through shifts sometimes, srs.
People are chitty.
