It was my Halloween costume.

I don't even bother explaining it to anyone because most will make their assumptions and stick with it.

The costume was a hit at last years Halloween party.

I personally don't understand the point of going somewhere to buy coffee, by time you dik around driving someplace and waiting you could have made a cup of coffee thats at least AS good as starbucks but likely a better cup of freshly ground in less time/effort.

Starbucks will have to increase wages or start some type of profit sharing to keep employees.

Has to be some type of incentive to serve others when you can literally show your butthole on the internet and retire in a year or two, then factor in they are actively trying replace you with automation.

Squeeze every dime you can out of these corporations because they're trying to do it to you.
LOL at anyone thinking they have skills that make them too valuable to replace 🤣 😅
If the company can save a nickel by firing you then they will.

It can very easily be a career. Store managers make an average of $75k plus good benefits. If you get promoted from there, you're in six figures.

A living wage is enough so that someone doesn't have to rely on government assistance to survive.

Get welfare queens like starbucks, walmart, and amazon the fukk outta here. They get billions every year in middle class taxpayer money.

Thst requires hard work, and dedication though. Let's be honest, we all have seen what Starbucks employees look like, do they look like they can do heavy, manual labour?

And ****, someone explain why I should tip someone for making me a tall Nitro Cold Brew??? It literally involves pulling a handle.

Of course every job has its difficulties, and I'm not arrogant enough to act like this is the easiest job in the world, but the fact they are complaining as if they are doing rigorous physical labor for 10 hours a day with no lunch and working 80 hours a week against their will or something is absurd. If they don't like their situation then move on. Right? When I was 14 I was doing yard work at my uncles house in IN for 9 hours in the blazing heat all the time in the summers for cash. I'm pretty sure a lot of miscers can relate that they did much more strenuous jobs and taxing jobs under worse circumstances and with less pay.

The babying of America. The comforts of our society will be the downfall of it. Eventually the next generations will all want to be tik tokkers, influencers, or something else not necessary and there will be a lack of skilled labor to function.

Wages are whatever someone is willing to work for, vs what the employer is willing to pay. In this case, Starbucks is chronically understaffed across the country right now. Their remaining employees are disgruntled due to being overworked, due to said underemployment. They are petitioning for higher wages. Starbucks can respond by either 1) raising wages, in order to attract new staff, and/or retain current staff 2) doing nothing and remaining short-staffed leading to even higher turnover.

Why does the free market make some of you so mad?

They should make as much as possible that they can get that their employer is willing and able to pay.

Why do you think they should settle for lower wages when they have the leverage to ask for more?

You forgot to factor in cost of products and services. Consider the fact that everything costs more. Starbucks might end up closing locations if they are forced to pay more. They also certainly won’t be getting more employees if they pay more. They are going to get every penny worth of work from the workers. Trust me, they won’t end up behind. They will find ways to make money and someone is going to pay.

I am fully aware of costs. I've been head manager at a restaurant before, I have an idea how things work. Not the workers' problem, man. If the worker decides what they are getting paid is not enough for the work, they will ask for more or quit. That's whats happening en masse at Starbucks right now. You mention having to close store; the Starbucks near me has been forced to close on random days due to having no staff. They have also recently chaged hours to close earlier because they cant find anyone to work late. This location is losing money by being closed because the company isn't paying enough to retain staff. It's up to Starbucks to do the calculus on weather being closed is worth not paying people more. Right now, the employees have leverage and are using their advantageous position to petition for higher wages. If starbucks can't match the demands, tough chit they don't get labor

Again, why do you guys think workers should be forced to accept wages that they deem not worth their labor? This is the other half of capitalism.

Low staff?

Blame your purple hair buddies who cry about working 16 hours a week. I worked at Starbucks as a High schooler. Was never late, loved the job, and loved the rush. We had left leaning workers, but they knew how to bust their ass. This was back in like 2006. Now, psssh, these sissies can't even handle being called the wrong pronouns without shutting down.

P.S I worked downtown. Our busy time was before Christmas when there were parades and what not downtown. We had lines wrapped around the building all the way out the door. Srs. Other than that, you deal with the normal rush and then A TON OF DEAD TIME! My manager would always say "If you have time to lean, you have time to clean". It's really a basic tier job. It takes one week to fully learn the drinks and after that it's repetition. I HATE when people try and make basic jobs this uber tough impossible task just to make themselves feel better. I literally did this job for $7.25 an hour with zero issues as a teen.
