do you prefer star trek TOS or TNG?

kirk and picard are equal captains imo. both alpha and decisive.

TNG was my introduction to star trek so of course i enjoy it

just started watching TOS and it is really good. ive also seen the Wrath of Khan and The Voyage Home which were also good. TOS is interesting when you think about the cultural impact it had

havent watched any of the spinoff shows yet

what does the misc prefer? inb4 picard is beta because he didnt smash every sloot on the enterprise like kirk

TOS while good is a relic of its time. The "alpha" of it can be pretty cringe, every woman wants to jump the captain just because. It has "born sexy yesterday" in multiple instances which is a pretty chit portrayal of male-female relations.

It's very quotable and there are some memorable scenes, but it never really matured.

TNG though, the entire main cast is extremely well developed, has screen presence and from a technical and script standpoint it still holds up. It introduced The Borg, Q, Brent Spiner gave a new approach to the concept of Android. It handles much more adult topics and and the "hot aliens" have crushes on each man at least once.
Into- Mountaineering, running & Djent/Progressive music.
Anti- Lack of accountability. Censorship, fat acceptance, & current wave feminism. That's why I left the UK.

TNG is still an excellent show even by modern standards. I'm bias because I grew up on it, channel 9 at 9pm on week nights, for most of the 90's. I know TOS was ahead of its time and has some very good episodes but feels too dated.

For an interesting twist, with the exception of Generations and First Contact, I think I like the TOS Motion Pictures better. Nemesis and insurrection were forgettable.

Even as a child and young teenager, I wouldn't watch that ****e, even if nothing else was on. Watched a few episodes of that stargate trash aswell, and remember it to be absolutely revolting.
