Anyone like Phantom of the Opera?

Went to see it tonight because it's closing in February. The movie (2004) was way better. Joel Schumacher was able to create sexual tension between a deformed murderer and a beautiful young virgin. The musical can't seem to achieve that.

He's still alive. He could come back for the final show.

I'd be a lot cooler if he did.

Phan checking in. The score for that play is genius by a legend in the biz, some of the songs actually slap. The 2004 film had the best Christine by a landslide. Would have loved to go to the 25th anniversary show.

BTW, the book is WAY better, way more detail and deranged than they could possibly put in a short show.

Right. Love the music -- could listen to it all day, and I do. The Phantom is a scary beast in the book. Amazing how he was made to be sexy in the movie. For real a lot of women say they would choose him over Raul, even with half his face messed up.

Plus the book had the Persian bro who was a main character, gets totally left out of show. Yeah phantom in the book is absolutely savage.

Btw, go watch Love Never Dies if you haven’t. Basically a sequel 10 years later. Got some bangers in there too

Music is great. Agree that the movie was better than most of the stage productions. The Vegas stage production felt more similar to the movie than the broadway one, although it was edited down.

When I saw Phantom time before this one, the lead female was black. Which was weird because Christine Dae is supposed to be Swedish.
