Got 100 million dollars laying around? Why not build a house the size of Walmart?

Billionaire couple so bored with their lives they decided to invest in a 20+ year long, grandiose house build that will inevitably end up abandoned one day and used by crack addicts.

Ugh,

I hate that overly tacky 1990s interpretation of a Victorian design. It's just so "busy" with the colors and bric-a-brac and always looks cluttered.

I'll never understand the 'taste' of the ultra wealthy. Massive homes with tacky decor....

I feel like if I had that kind of money I'd want a beachfront place in South Florida. And a ranch out West in Idaho/Montana/Wyoming. 1000 acres or so.

Maybe I'd want a staff of a pilot to fly my jet/helicopter, a private chef. And full time staff of servants. To clean the houses, do laundry, maintain the grounds, etc. But I'd sure as **** not want a house that big.

Imagine being one of their kids. One got a 15k diamond necklace for his birthday. Think he wanted it? Think he really wants anything at that point -- they have so much already.

Looks very beautiful but would be a workout to get around. My cleaning lady would have a fit if I moved into a big house like that.

Imagine being that selfish. I understand it is your money and you can do what you want, but instead of looking for ways to help your local community, family, friends, businesses, your sons find their own path......you just decide to build a mega mansion for no reason that after a year will just be a dust bin.

I'm not surprised though looking at her tits. Poor kids. srs.

Just building stuff like this does support the local and even broader economy, all the materials and labour etc involved came from somewhere

That house project = employment for many people

With no purpose though. They took up tons of land, time and effort to build something that won't be used and crumble over time.

Imagine building something the local community can utilize the same size as the house.

People that rich are so full of themselves and are in such a bubble they think they know better then anyone else.

I've a family member that does construction in fairly high end homes. Its really not uncommon for them to spend 100K or so in a kitchen or bathroom. Then after everything is done. The change their mind and have everything ripped out and spend another 100K to redo it with minor changes.

I've been in quite a few of these people's homes and the interior is almost always really gaudy.

I'm more concerned about his taste in women. A billionaire and he marries some skinjob looking stepmom. Dude could just bang prime glow hookers and not have to deal with the blowup wife.

He's 86 and probably too tired to engage in looking for a new one. She was Miss Florida when he met her. 30 years younger.

I'd make everyone mad by staying in my sh*tty one story ranch style home that was built in 1960. I'd also keep driving my Hyundai.

That house is cursed. Been building it since the early 2ks. Financial crisis put a halt on it and they almost lost it. Then the recent hurricane flooded some of the interior. It was supposed to be a family home but the kids are mostly all grown up and likely have no interest in living in it. She's just sinking more money into it and the guy will be dead before he lives in it. But does he really care? He's a hotel and timeshare mogul.
