Ethanol at even moderate amounts cuts years from your health span ( rising odds of cancers and neurodegenration significantly)
Try more « sustainable crutches » ice baths, sauna, spending time in nature etc natural highs and natural social lubricants

What are the pros?
I can't really think of any nowadays. I dont need it as a social lubricant because I'm naturally confident and social anyway.
Cons?
Empty calories - gain fat
literally poison which is destructive to every cell in your body
You function worse. Why would you want to take something that makes you slower, sluggish and perform worse?
I work less
Alcohol proven to lower Test levels and increase estrogen
Costs money
Usually always think its a good idea after a couple of drinks to snack on chit food which fuks my diet more
Workouts with a hangover are not the one.
Brb waking up in the night or next day with random acid reflux.
Might make stupid decisions or say things you shouldnt.
Being brainwashed by the media and social circles and even parents that you're not normal if you dont drink. Its glamourised to absolutely fukkery
Like a fly to a venus fly trap, you can see other people massively suffering from alcoholism (so you see other flies getting caught by the venus fly trap) but you think "not me, im too smart to get caught on that" - but by drinking it massively increases your chances of developing alcoholism later in life.
Most alcoholic drinks actually taste like chit and non alcohol are nicer (mocktails are still nice too)
Dehydrates you, which has loads of bad effects in itself, but then makes you want to drink more and as you get drunk you keep drinking (you wouldnt drink 6pints of orange juice in a night would you?)
Average drinker spends $200K in their lifetime.
Probably around 150-200K calories - so around 40-50lbs of fat potentially a year.
Alcohol makes you appear older/uglier and more sluggish. Ages you hard and has long term health effects.
Decreases serotonin and dopamine and also over time reduces sexual libido
I could go on..

Low level example, I made a great ham today and roasted fruits on the ham. I tried some and the fruits were really delicious.
My cat was very curious what I was doing on the counter and jumped up. He then stepped on the plate of cooked fruit and knocked it on the ground.
I did not get angry at all, which my gf did.
That's because as soon as I saw the fruit on the floor, I knew they were not longer fruit, but garbage.
I was not angry at my cat because I realized that he does not understand his actions.
So, I instantly moved on with dinner.
If you can learn to do that with every subject you will not need to abuse substances to deal with problems and be in a good mood all the time.

I drink because I like it and watching movies with a drink in my hand after a day's work makes me relax more than anything else.
For me, life is a one-time experience and is there for me to enjoy the challenge not to cope with.

It gets a lot easier after the first month of going sober. Srs.
Also, if you find yourself struggling, remind yourself that you've already drank plenty in your lifetime and don't need to add to it anymore, because if you feel like you described in the OP, it's probably true. Alcohol dependence is a learned behavior people use to cope with dealing with everything that sucks about life, from going to their job they hate to cleaning the house out. Gotta break that habit before it's gonna get easier for you to resist the booze.

It’s not that serious brah and not all of us have a problem like you and can handle our booze, only drink socially and limit it to a few times per month. Just because you’re hitting the bottle at 9am on a Wednesday alone doesn’t mean we all are.

I feel like in life you need to have some sort of pleasure and high to be "living"
I would be so utterly bored out of my mind if there wasn't beer around. What would I do if I didn't drink in my spare time? Like would I pretty much just be in a plank position most of my day? Honestly working out would be about the only thing I would find joy in.
I think the only way this would truly work out is if you had a chick that gave you that kind of high. Like a badass chick that's solely into you without being clingy. Chances of that happening to most guys these days is pretty much zero so ye.. i'm gonna get lit at least on the weekends. IF I find that girl that "does it" for me, maybe i'll change.

Don't know how people get trashed every weekend, although when I was 25-30 it was no big deal.

Coming from a guy who did it for like 30 plus years, it doesnt really help with problems.
What happens is you create more problems so you can drink to cope with them. Its really just an addiction to both, the problems and the booze.
Address those two issues and you can stop.

I used to drink every day for years. 1-4 beers depending on the day. I was never drunk or out of control. I stopped as quickly as I started too. All about being in control. Seems like a lot of people don’t have that little thing in their brain that tells them when to stop.

Always drank when partying but never in my life have i drank to cope with anything negative in my life. Death of family member, prison sentence, mom struggling with cancer etc…
I only drank alcohol If i was gonna Party with girls present. Just drinking with the boys is Also a pointless activity i never did unless hitting the clubs afterwards. Drinking alone has to be the least rewarding activity i Can think of. All the negatives with none of the positives.
Some of you brahs need to stop alcohol/drugs ASAP
