except btc and crypto are backed by nothing...and gold backed currency is backed by.....actual gold.

Yup. I heard others say this too.

It makes complete sense. No one will just fall for CBDC anymore because of the FTX collapse. Too many people will be skeptical and not want to leave the dollar.

However, if it was backed by gold then that would makes sense. It would re-evaluate the price of gold, we technically own the most Gold in the world (so we say...) so a revalued gold price is huge for us, people would buy in more to it, etc. My guess is that they'll pull a fed move. Fed came in and started the dollar backed by gold. Eventually they got rid of the gold standard and look what happens. They'll probably do something similar to get people to buy in and then years down the road remove gold again and have much more control than they ever had.

Extremely interesting thought that actually seems highly likely given our current trajectory. For some reason I never even thought of it like that and the digital ability to break down your ownership of gold into smaller quantities to use as currency. Damn.

I go like 2 weeks without listening to Schiff and I miss a lot of these nuggets.

i listen to all his podcasts. theyre great. he makes about 2 a week.
