No its beta to do something or not do something based on whether others think its beta or alpha. True alphas do what they want and arent restricted to some little cube of rules.

theyre all over the fuking place and theyre too new for the slow beurocratic municiple governments to have any real laws for them. Fukers are driving them down the middle of the road at 40-50 mph and all kinds of ****, you can barely see them. They go up on the sidewalks then back on the roads. You should have to be a like a moped and register it and only drive it on the road, its a motorized vehicle except they are harder to see and cant hear them at all. Eventually the laws will change and you wont be able to drive them anymore.

Coming from Denmark where you have such concrete rules for cycling and EVERYONE rides a bike, tens of thousands commuting to work in and around copenhagen, it is mind-blowing watching people bike in other countries, especially in cities.

Everyone ride scooters and fukin unicycles here faster than cars for free (no tax, MOT, insurance etc)

I see a few people riding around on these where i'm at, and they're no joke. There are some models that can go 40mph.

I kinda want to get one but I can't think of a reason other than to treat it like a toy, and not for any practical use.

Anywhere I want to go I can just take my car.
It would be nice for a quick run to the store to pick up groceries but losing balance would be a problem (trying to ride it while holding bags).
You can take them on hiking trails but it defeats the whole purpose of getting exercise walking on the trail.

A friend of mine as a One-Wheel and those are pretty easy to ride especially if you have experience riding a skateboard, but these have a much steeper learning curve.
