Coders will soon be put out of work because of Chat GPT

Chat Gpt will soon eliminate the need for most cubecell jobs. It can code, it can write forum posts(as the one below explaining what it is)it can write an 8 page essays in about 30 seconds, with citation. It can actually write an entire book if you want it to. It is way smarter than you and it doesn't need a break or even paid. Only thing it won't be able to do is tradie jobs. What are you guys gonna do in a couple years when there's no need for you?
GPT (short for "Generative Pre-training Transformer") is a type of language model developed by OpenAI. It is a machine learning model that has been trained on a large dataset of text and is able to generate human-like text by predicting the next word in a sequence given the previous words.

Sales jobs are about to be ****ed too. It can write awesome sales emails. Also once they incorporate voice like googles AI assistant, where it is smarter than the salesperson and knows more about the product than the salesperson.

not even a remotely intelligent take OP

I'm sure it'll work for writing small functions and would be a nice companion piece for programmers, but it won't work at all in larger projects.

It's good with accurate descriptions, but programmers rarely received good, concrete, accurate descriptions/requirements telling them what to do.

As long as AI isn't able to interpret vague human instructions and turn them into code, it's quite literally useless in practicd

im 99.9% sure these chatbots don't actually write anything original. that would require actual creativity and actual intelligence.


i suspect these bots are nothing more than glorified, next generation search engines.



it probably plagiarizes content it searched and found on the web, either by taking bits and pieces from different sources to create a frankenstein text of many sources, or it may just lift it directly from somewhere.

my instincts tell me this is nothing more than a next generation search engine imo. Google 2.0, if you will.

Instead of getting links to your search results, it grabs the info in those search results, and provides them for you in a text.

this is like an advancement of search engine technology. kind of like going from rotary airplanes to jet engines.

this new search engine helps save you time so you don't have to click around links to find a goood source, it just presents it for you in readable text, saving you time.

no, because humans can write original content even if you remove all articles from the face of the internet


if you removed the thing's database and gave it no access to internet to search for human content, it would provide you with nothing. because it can't write anything. it's just searching human content and using whatever algorithm they wrote to mimic human output


again, it's nothing more than the next evolution of search engines, that's it.

ive already been using it for sellside marketing materials for clients (updates on various sectors, investment highlights, market updates). No one at works knows, buts its making my life so much easier (half of the job is just getting pen on paper and letting someone senior mark it up).

trying to incorporate it to write emails for me to (or have it read a huge ass thread and summarize what is being talked about).

Gonna start using it to generate emails at my job. We have a company newsletter and I sometimes write articles on the importance of mental health. I will just start having this AI write them. Will probably get promoted soon.
