Well, that is essentially what humans do, just way less efficiently but with a better ability to improvise.

Everything is derivative. So if you have an AI that can scan millions of writings in a second and try to put together something relevant, just need to figure out how to give it better instructions.

It claims it knows many languages.


Any English + Spanish speaker would know what that sentence means.


The glorified search engine does not know what it means, even though it claims to know both languages well.


Why?

Because the programmers didn't write a good enough algorithm to account for this. So it can't pretend to be an AI.



Any normal sentient aware consciousness that can speak both languages can figure out that simple SpanGlish sentence.

Further, after talking to it, it claims it's database is billions of words from a controlled set of articles and books and texts. So the design team carefully picked what sources to feed this thing into it's database.

Give me access to these specific sources, and I'd expose this thing for just frankenstein'ing existing human content

I think you're putting to much facet into the AI portion. If I can have this thing write a 50 page dissertation, how will we be able to trust anyone. And how long before we stop verifying what this says?

I suspect because when Microsoft released their chatbot, Tay, users were anonymous and interacting with it and feeding it Hitler stuff and white supremacy stuff. It turned the bot into a raging racist. lol, Microsoft had to shut it down


I think this is their way of controlling that, less chance of you doing that if you put your identifying information.



The chatbot claims it cannot access the internet either, it has a specific database that it was fed by the design team, i think to specifically avoid this issue
