Cons: so isolated it lacks the coping resources needed to deal with the kinds of people who live most other places.

Clueless Brit here. Always remembered Maine as a kid from Stephen King's books and wanted to visit. I think the low crime rates (similar to New Hampshire) makes it attractive. Has the 48th lowest temp rank, but can't you just move around during the winter months?! Anyway, I guess Miscers will hate it since it's Blue.
