It's a hell of a lot less than what pros are taking now, and many less types as well. Messing around with things like insulin is just flat out dangerous.

Did cutting drugs even exist back then or did they have to shred up naturally?

he had insane bicep and chest genetics for their fiber lengths and insertion points. He also brought up his upper body parts in a very aesthetically pleasing way because he grew each little muscle part like brachialis and even front side and rear delts, both bicep heads, lats and traps, etc... very evenly and pronounced. He kept his waist really small as well which was a mixture of genetics, always staying lean, and keeping his digestion on point. He was far more meticulous and following hardcore programs way more in depth than the vast majority of miscers would understand but he doesnt talk about it because no one would understand/care. He knew that early on and just learned how to entertain to make the real money before there was social media.

But you probably won't understand even that.
If you look at his book, Encyclopedia of Bodybuilding, Ahnold did two a days all supersets. So he'd do legs in the morning then chest or back later in the day. Once again it was al supersets between Bench Press etc...

Arnold Schwarzenegger steroid cycle is a 26-week cycle combination of Primobolan injectable, Dianabol oral and Deca Durabolin injectable. Primobolan is injected for the first 20 weeks. Deca Durabolin is injected only on the 21st to 26th week.
classic

but its the same as everyone else from this era, who trained a lot like him, diet similar

The only difference is the person taking it....

The sad thing is I am not even coping. I did dumb **** but no where near what this guy is talking about or near what misc thinks. I am speaking from first hand experience with these people. I am friends with olympian coaches, I KNOW what drugs they take, like I literally go to some coach's christmas/thanksgiving parties and we have frequent friend dates, this isnt me just shooting shots in the dark. I have been fully entrenched in the bodybuilding world it is zero question to me the range/area of doses and substances MANY bodybuilders take. There literally are crazy outliers who do stupid chit until they die like Dallas, I don't know why he even brings him up as an example when he literally died taking too much gear. Or they bring up Rich Piana cycles, same thing. Then you ask the real old timers who are still healthy now what they did, and you get this chit "oh no they were liars, even though they are still alive healthy and happy now at 70+, they are liars they took grams and grams even though they were 1/2 the size of bodybuilders now, all liars"

More than anything I hate that there is such a negative stigma about steroids that everyone that takes them is afraid to publicly talk about it, and how to do it safely. From him, to Hulk Hogan to Liverking.
liverking is an antihero in this. He is the result of their denial, not the cause. he's based af.

I mean I want to try and explain this to you but I can't really think of how to now. But bodybuilding is still a LOT more complex than what someones volume/program basics were. Did he do some sort of periodization? how was that matched up with his diet/supplementation/peds? How was his form, because what I see with someones form is not what most people see with someones form. Like one of his row videos on the cable row machine, many people will argue its ****ty form for many reasons, others will say its great form, its all based on how far you are in the journey of understanding form and techniques of stimulation. I have gone through cycles of movements back and forth based on what level of lifting I was at.

I guess what I am trying to say is often times things we see as simple are much more complex than what we are seeing, or in his case, what someone is willing to speak in depth on. He spoke to appeal to many people, just like how most people dont want to listen to me blabber on and on on here because most people on here are not serious bodybuilders. Arnold knew writing some meticulous super detailed in depth explanation Bodybuilding encyclopedia with biomechanics and rotating supplements etc.. was only going to appeal to a VERY small amount of people. If he wanted to make money selling what would be considered a bible to bodybuilding it needed to be simple enough for most people to understand and feel like they got something from it.

Most of these guys on social media now know a lot more than they put out they have just grown tired of learning about it and talking about it with the people they talk about it with in other groups/in person/at events/seminars etc... that they dont want to talk about it on social media and it doesnt make them money. Doing stupid chit that reaches a broad audience of normies is what makes you money and followers.

He wasn’t huge for his height like today’s mass monsters

And he had basically zero gut

Also he lifted big weights (contrast with say Hemsworth)

Given those three factors I’d say his results were more attributable to genetics and hard consistent work with keeping supplementation to a minimum

Ie given the same supplementation the vast majority would get nowhere near his level

However I have no direct knowledge of how any of this works lmao

I would bet almost anything when I am his age I will be saying the same exact thing. My perspective then though will be something I cant fully understand now so I am not going to fake it.

exactly

it doesnt take much gear to get to 6 1 240 decently lean. He also didnt get to 6 1 240 lean after 4 years of lifting or after his first cycle. So I am not saying its "easy" but it doesnt take much gear. I think for someone with good genetics, they could get there never going above a gram a week. Which is why arnold's success isnt about his gear use.

To OP, neither you nor I could achieve what he has accomplished in a single lifetime even if we had extra thousands of years for trying to do it.

Because we don't have his kind of vision and determination to make it come true.

Speaking for myself, he inspired me and still inspires me.

Lucky to live in the same generation as the GOAT like Arnie.

Of course BikingBrah is post 1 raging. Lolz. Inafter.

As was said, MPMD has a whole thing about it. Also, i remember (getting old and it was years ago) either seeing a video of him or his trainer talking about what they were doing back in the day, and lol'ing about how much crap they had to eat to keep up because they were able to work out so hard and so much. Specifically, I remember the joke being they went and ate whole apple pies each and then went for their second training session of the day.

Cant remember what law enforcement agency was discussed, but said person also mentioned getting a visit from them to discuss what was going on. More from a...genuine curiosity of what they were on.

LMFAO at the delusions around here.

Just because you hide behind no avi doesn't mean it magically makes you not a loser beta male Timmy.

The fact you go through such lengths to hide your pathetic reality is an indictment, are you too dumb to understand it?

If life is so good for you Timmy feel free to show everyone, since you're so vocal about who's coping around here.

Now watch the cope, will OP cope directly or indirectly to this one? Hmmm, decisions, decisions...

Only on the misc could an ugly juice head terrible alcoholic try telling someone else he's coping and keep a straight face.

I'm Diabetic and have to take insulin and I don't understand how insulin affects bodybuilding

All I know is I have to take insulin all the time since about almost anything and everything spikes my Blood Glucose.

Lifting weights spikes my BG.

If you have read up or listened to him discuss his lifting philosophy, he and his BB friends spent hours (all day) lifting with free weights like it was a Golds Gym summer camp.
He talks about set after set, and essentially hanging out at the gym, while us mere mortals get tired after 2 hours. So he may have used what was available at the time but 4-6 hours at the gym would make any of us look decent.
Imagine you and your boys lifting for 4 hours pushing each other to the max; how would you look?

Uhh no 4-6 hours of lifting wouldn't make most people look good. It would injure pretty much everyone.

They hung out too......
You are not literally lifting 4 hours straight(lol), they were not marathoners but in the gym for that long.
If i spot you, we talk, pose, write things in our journal, stretch, take supps, it all counts.
The gym lifestyle= all day in there

Imagine you and your boys lifting for 4 hours pushing each other to the max; how would you look?
Feelsbadman, wish we could go back to these days (srs)

Being on gear and spending 3+ hours at the gym = fuking hnnnngh, hanging out with the gym brahs, flirting with the gym brahettes, partitioning nutrients, selling brahs steroids, the good days

Agreed, my best friend always managed to force 2-3 more reps when i was done mentally.
That extra push made for amazing pumps and gains...and then he met his wife and it was all gone.
