And assume they may have a back up weapon.

That last shot, after he had already taken the low life's one visible gun away, prevented him from gaining access to a potential second one that he might have had on him, too.

You can't take actions based on "the possibilitee" that they can hurt you. If that were the case, you can just go around and shoot anyone because they have the abilitee to kill you. Clearly, we all take risk of dying from whatever "possibilitees" exist in life. That means there are rules you have to abide by when defending yourself. It's not free reign just because there a "possibilitee" of him getting back up and shooting you.

Guy might have fuked himself with shot 9.

Shots 1-4 were perfect. Shots 5-8 were solidly defendable.

Shot 9 is a problem. He had already secured the firearm and the perp wasn't moving. His only hope is that the guy was already dead.

Really? If somebodys waving a gun around I can only assume they intend to use it. Also it usually takes more than one shot with a handgun to put somebody down. You shoot until there is no longer a threat. If I'm in a situation where I need to use a gun in self defense, the jackass has already waved their right to life and I'm dumping the whole mag. Thankfully I live in the state that averages like 12 guns per household and laws favor the defensive shooter.
