Love to see it. Taking out the trash. I’m in Texas and I love this state so much. Texas and Florida are the only hope for this country.

Wow, you have got to be pretty f'ed in the head to think that extreme scenario of escalation you present is the simple logically progression of Texas law.

What would you do if you intended to steal, knowing full well a decent percentage of the bystanders may be armed? It's pretty simple. You'd kill every one of them. You should plan for the worst with criminals and adjust laws accordingly to deter this type of thing.

It is the logical progression. Chit will get more violent, not less violent.

I'll also add that if everyone walked around armed, security wouldn't be maximized. It would actually be a very suboptimal solution that would lead to substantially more killings over disputes. And as I said, if it becomes expected that crowds of bystanders would have armed opposition, you'd rationally expect determined criminals to kill everyone.

While this may deter some thieves, it won't outweigh the determined ones killing people.

Texas' law is also kind of dumb because the long term equilibrium is going to be thieves coming in and indiscriminately killing everyone because they may have a weapon. We're banking on the good nature of people. In the long run, with repeated exposure to violence and the expectation more people carry, mass executions will become more common. It's simple logic.

In practice, even in TX, most aren't armed. If a large enough percentage of people carried, you'd see burglars escalate to using bombs and mass executions.
Let's keep this coward logic in whatever Shythole European country you're in.

Why did he shoot him after he takes the gun from the floor while he is just laying there. That shot is an execution bullet, has nothing to do with eliminating a threat at this point and will most likely give him jail time.

Looks like the DA says he's all good.

Nathan Beedle with the Harris County District Attorney's Office said the shooting death could be justified.

"I can point you exactly where it is in the law, 9.31 and 9.32 of the penal code," Beedle said on KHOU, the local CBS affiliate. "Whether someone uses deadly force in the situation, that is presumed to be correct under Texas law."

You make a lot of assumptions about human nature with no basis in facts or even grounded logic. Texas is already a great study on going from literally *everyone being armed* too *less people being armed*

And never once did your thesis of “thieves will just turn into mass murderers then try and claim they feared for their lives cuz everyone was armed”. Ever come close to the light of reality.

It’s completely ludicrous and a fantasy you made up to support your stance.

So you should just execute anybody if you have the chance? Its not about stopping a threat but "verify" you killed him? Some smart arguments here.

Texas with the only remaining sanity left in our world.

As long as you can prove the other party was the aggressor- and certainly if they were armed- you're basically square here.

I get that 9 shots is a little brutal, but the robber was waving his gun around way too liberally, you should be allowed to shoot him as many times as you want (srs)

If the criminal happened to survive that, the victim would have lost everything.

House, cash, life, everything.

It's all too common criminals sue their victims. If you are going to shoot a criminal, you have to do it right.

The guy was not an innocent bystander, buying a taco who got shot by a klansman. Criminals deserve zero rights especially if it was all recorded with many witnesses.

It's like p.edos, there will always be a liberal defending them. Like all criminals, they need to be lined up and shot by a firing squad.
