Guy who was high on PCP literally chewing on a concrete sidewalk riser. Mouth was destroyed and he didn't even care.

Not too much really, but lots of animal carnage. A pregnant deer got hit on the highway a few years ago. Fired the deer fetus onto the yellow line, and the doe was laying there, head up and fully conscious, and you could see right through under her spine, behind the diaphragm.
Sat there for a bit before the cop shot her.
I had a gun and offered, but the cop was being douchey.

My mom had been separated from us and living in a different house my dad bought her. She was very mentally ill. I was not on speaking terms with her. My bro had been out of town. When he returned, he went to visit her, and it turned out she had been dead for like a month. When he called and told me, in tears, I didn't even know what to say. My nose just started bleeding. I rushed over, and it turned out she had a stroke and had been vomiting into a flower pot and decided to lie down and never woke up again. She died completely alone and confused. When we went to see her, the smell was unbearable. Her body had partially rotted and wasted away, but the air conditioning had preserved her body more than you'd expect. It was the most terrible thing I have ever seen. When I saw it, I legit felt a pain in my heart. I just didn't want to exist anymore. I don't think I'm ever really going to be ok. I never even got to say goodbye either. Everytime I close my eyes and remember my mum, I see that image singed into my brain -- a reminder of how painful life is and how fragile we are. This mighty and dreadful woman, who was the bane of my existence my whole life and yet who I loved so deeply was reduced to nothing but a decaying corpse. I don't think I feel anything anymore tbh. Just anger and sorrow.
It's weird because while your parents are alive, you'll only remember the horrible stuff, but later, you will remember all the good things they did for you. My mom used to sit with me and teach me to read and do math. Before she started acting crazy she was strict, but caring. Later on, her illness made her very erratic and extremely abusive. But for better or for worse, she was my mom.

Animals can be difficult to dispatch. It would take a serious hit to KO a deer, let alone kill it. Think 4 foot steel bar, and everything you got.
Sometimes it is best to end suffering as best you can, but the world is a fukked up place now so doing the right thing can fuk you over

Normally I’m beating the animals at the skull and neck trying to seperate the head if it’s a messy “make this thing dead now so it stops suffering”

Saw a a car swerve off the road right in front of me. Went off the right hand side into a gulley and smacked head on into a tree. I was first on site and basically watched the woman bleed out in front of me.
Saw an older Asian woman basically get run over by a dump truck in Boston. Head was crushed, blood everywhere. Just horrible.

Life its self is suffering... You haven't witnessed suffering till you watch a wolf tear a deer open and wait for it to die of sepsis while it runs through the bush, its guts catching on tree branches and stumps.
Empathy is what separates us from animals. If I see that, I am putting it down. Have put down several car hit deer (caused by humans, btw), and just text my conservation officer and let him know.
While I hunt and fish for a good percentage of what I eat, I try and make sure all kills are humane as possible because I understand what suffering is. Its funny how animal cruelty charges exist to protect animals from suffering, (makes sense) but if we refuse to let an animal continue to suffer like in the above link, we get in chit.
As an highschool biology professor once told me "all animals feel pain"
Life is weird.
Btw, that deer that the cop finished off, I loaded up and used it as bait to trap wolves.

I think people who eat meat should have to kill a cow, or pig or whatever.

I had another thought last night. About the saying "Keep your friends close, and keep your enemies even closer".
Honestly, for years, I have thought that such is a really stupid statement.
One is likely to have enemies of some sort of kind in life. That's a given.
Friends are NOT a given. Friends are much, much more rare. Why wouldn't one want to keep something really rare close to them?
Think about it. If you have a friend who is really close to you, but then you realize you have an enemy...well, you get the enemy closer to you than the friend. You do this enough times to where there is a shortage of space to bring more enemies close to you. So to keep to that so-called "philosophy" you have to start pushing away friends.
Well, what do you have then? You have a situation where you are surrounded by your enemies. Now seriously, how stupid is THAT?!
And when you push away a friend, it is likely that you make another enemy, or at least you have a non-friend. The best way to make, have, and keep friends is to be one, yourself. But if you aren't one, you are less likely to have one. If you make life about enemies, that's what you will have - enemies.
What blows my mind is that people think that malevolent people have never read or heard of such a statement. They think malevolent people aren't intelligent enough to realize that this is the dance that someone else is doing with them. Malevolent people are highly intelligent. You think you can outsmart those malevolent people? As soon as you bring them closer and push your friend away in order to do so, FAIT ACCOMPLI on their part. You think you're being smarter by bringing them closer? No, you're only playing into their hands.
"Keep your friends close. Keep your enemies even closer." = You will be surrounded by your enemies. You will be miserable. You are nowhere near as intelligent as you think you are.

5/6 years ago I saw an F250 with hunting dog cages in the bed get sandwiched between two trucks on the interstate during a pile up. I don’t know how many dogs there were but some were still alive. I could see at least two, they were mangled and crushed in the cages, their screeching and howling could be heard over my radio.
After I made it past the wreckage heard gun shots. I thought for a second a driver started shooting because it was a chaotic scene but it was a law enforcement officer that saw the wreck. He stopped, bailed out and opened fire.
I don’t think the dogs would have been killed if they were in proper cages, but they were just some sort of good-ole-boy do it yourself chicken wire cages.

I'm sure whatever happened to that driver was pretty gruesome, too, but I never saw any news stories about a fatal accident there, so I don't know.Saw a a car swerve off the road right in front of me. Went off the right hand side into a gulley and smacked head on into a tree. I was first on site and basically watched the woman bleed out in front of me.
Saw an older Asian woman basically get run over by a dump truck in Boston. Head was crushed, blood everywhere. Just horrible.

Saw a twentysomething Navy dude cut in half from a jeep rollover on the highway. There was blood all over the highway. Had to have just happened too, there were no medics/fire/police on site yet.
Makes you realize how important seat belts really are, especially in convertible type vehicles.
I was so callused at the time that it didn't even bother me.
Looking back it was disturbing as hell.
