Should I fire my new employee

Hired this dude from Switzerland for a remote position about a week ago, don’t have much work for him now but dude shows absolutely zero initiative, seems extremely socially awkward In teams meetings and is scaring all the women.

We pay him 6 figures in Swiss currency so he makes about as much as Chuck E Cheese busboy in Canada

A week old employee isnt showing self initiative and is awkward?

Isnt the first week onboarding, training, familiarization, greetings? Isnt the first week the companies job to provide onboarding with little to no self initiative required on the employees part?

Exactly what self initiative are you expecting and isnt social awkwardness somewhat expected the first week?
