Probably because women are the ones buying the most chocolate and are the ones at the store buying it for the kids. In short, marketing to make more money under the guise of caring about whatever mainstream cause is popular.

Oh I'm still baffled at the concept of candy coated chocolate flavored candies having a *gender*.

Are you a homo if you eat same sex m&ms?

Can m&ms sexually reproduce?

If so and they have been packaging them up all willy nilly mixing the boys and girls then why have the packages been getting smaller instead of larger?

Are they dosing the m&ms with birth control hormones to prevent candy overpopulation?

Are m&ms making boys gay with the BC hormones since you are what you eat?

Because that could explain a lot. Lower testosterone?

I dunno, doesn't really bother me since it's limited and a percentage goes to a charity (disclaimer: no idea if those charities are good or not). That marketing will probably get more people buying it so more profit for Mars which I guess is the point.
