I know of at least 15-20 men from my graduating class who are already dead from heroin/suicide. This was a suburb of upper middle/ upper class people. And I graduated in 2010.

I think the O for women is the same intensity as for men but it's felt internally as well as externally. A lot of men don't know how or care to give women an O so many women just lie to men and say they had one. Most O for women come from oral and a lot of men won't do that. A lot of women were unhappy in my Grandma’s era. My Grandma graduated #2 in her class at Berkeley and never was able to use those smarts in a career as back then women were housewives.

Thus my Mom became one of the first female computer programmers. I had a role model and even though I went into a non-tech role in hi-tech, I’m happy I had the opportunity to have a career for my self esteem. If I retired today I would be proud of being a mother and proud of my career.

Now my daughter wants to major in my major in college. I’m not going to groom her to get pregnant at 19 and be a stay at home Mom. Especially after private school her whole life. Just lol.

Women need college degrees and job skills as a backup plan in case the husband leaves her. I’ve seen women get screwed when the alimony runs out if she has no job skills. Then she’s working retail.

It’s tough to balance both. My Mom took years off to raise me and I took years off to raise my daughter. I hated leaving her alone with the nanny when she was young.

That’s not always the case. Most women are widowed and I see a lot of them who have no family visitors in my Mom’s nursing home. It’s really sad. My Dad is with her daily and I go weekly. It’s tough as the stroke and dementia messed her up and she tells me and my Dad that she hates us and to leave. I’m more sensitive to that than my Dad.

Eventually you lose your desire to younger men but my sex drive has gone down so I don’t care about them anymore.

You do realize that "studies" are only a small part of scientific literature? I dont need a representative double-blind crossover study followed by a meta analysis in order to find out that airbags may reduce car-crash fatalities.

How many people do i know who regret their (former) marriage? A few.
How many people do i know who regret their children? Close to 0.
How many childless men and women over 40 do i know who regret NOT having children? Almost all of them.

We have a population of 8 billion people. We don't have unlimited resources. It's not dumb to be childless. Its selfish to have a child. Especially in this clown world. By the time you have your child, in 20 years, the market will be saturated with degrees. Making your child have less of a chance to make it on his own in life. I respect childless women. Just because you evolved to reproduce doesn't mean you should reproduce. And also, it takes a lot of work to raise a kid right. Some people aren't cut for it.

My ex turned out like this. Our families knew each other well and she was the first girl I was 100% in love with. Would have married her and had kids no questions asked. We got together when i was visiting from college and so it became long distance when i went back up. Alls that happened was one day she went to some event and failed to tell me she wouldnt be able to answer the phone (phone is everything in long distance). When i finally got a hold of her i wigged out and she dumped me. I ended up moving back home to try to reconcile with her and to no avail. Basically she's just dated since then and now she is 36 with no husband or kids. What a waste.

Kids are different, and different for every couple. I know a couple with 3 kids that basically, each wanted to do well in school, play sports, take care of themselves, hate video games. The kids are very "pragmatic" and "chill". I asked their mom for the 'secret' and she just basically said they were 'consistent'. Lots of game nights with the kids, cooking together, engaged in their sports/academic lives.

I think we all know plenty of couples for whom kids are an absolute nightmare. So "it depends", though I think the parenting example I just gave is...seldom seen.It depends here too.
