Don’t worry about it, just make sure you could see your six pack, everything else falls in place by itself.

What are the numbers?

Really the only thing to be worried about is high triglycerides and low hdl. Slightly high tris aren't going to kill you.

Also get retested in a few weeks and I bet they're not the same.

If you drink stop.

eh i wouldn't worry too much about it but keep an eye on it.

i had high triglycerides last time i got bloodwork done but i firmly believe it was due to heavy drinking.

stopped drinking now so curious to see what it'll be.

No he's right. Newest literature shows cholesterol numbers dont coralate to bad health unless tris are really high with low hdl.

Your numbers don't warrant any concern. And just one test means nothing. You need to be doing yearly blood draws.

100% correct. Cholesterol is so vital to the body we synthesize it ourselves in the liver. Doctors are concerned about cholesterol levels because its usually whats comprised of clots in the arteries. However, its actually insulin thats the culprit (sugar):

-you drink a soda.
-to neutralize that sugar your body pumps out a chit-ton of insulin from the pancreas.
-insulin flows through the body in high concentrations damaging the arterial wall.
-white bloodcells "patch" up the damaged areas of the inner arterial wall forming a scab just like if you cut yourself on your arm
-Its cholesterol that then gets stuck on those arterial repairs.

starches and grains and even whole fruits are fine because they take time to digest (due to the fiber) so insulin concentration stays low in the blood. Its sugar in the form on candy and sodas and "juice concentrates" Its sugar and alcohol (both of which spike insulin) thats the culprit of the problems with the western diet.

As for "statins" or HMG-CoA reductase inhibitors, while inconclusive on the cancer findings, are said to be linked to early onset dementia and even alzheimers. It slows the production of cholesterol needed for the brain because the drug crosses the blood brain barrier.

my most recent blood test indicated i have high cholesterol too. forgot the numbers. but i've started cutting with IF.

scrolled through a bunch of redditor's posts about high cholesterol and cutting, and many of them said that when they got their blood tested again, their cholesterol was even higher. apparently after losing weight, it gets higher and then takes awhile to come back down.

dont really understand the science, don't care to either. apparently all the science about cholesterol is bullchit too.

i dont have prediabetes tho.

You're 3 inches taller and nearly 60 pounds heavier than me.

I know no one thinks BMI is valid but that classifies you as obese. Is your BF% low or high is the question.
