brb robots will never be able to operate without cables
brb robots arent that smart, they cant traverse an obstacle course

If there's ever a breakthrough in batteries that lets a robo tradie operate for a few hours at a time, all they gotta do is make one hand into a nail gun and the other into a sawzall and the eyes can do all the calculating. Monster better get into the robotradie battery pack business if they want to survive.

if a roomba can be programmed to return to its docking station to recharge when low, i'm sure a robotradie can as well

build sites are gonna have 3 phase installed initially with a bunch of docking stations and then the robotradies will take care of everything else while working 24/7

economies of scale will bring the cost down to where it will be a no brainer

I hope they have good security onsite, wouldn't want jealous ex tradies getting any ideas. Or maybe do prefab and have the meatbag tradies assemble onsite with a robot foreman.

ive built a hospital from the ground up. we are fairly close to being done

i dont think that robot is close at all. i also think that was a really programmed little show

the only thing i could think of within the context of my last project that could be done with a robot would be the tremble points. IF the contractor gave really precise points. but often times the office would be wrong/ there would be problems and or they'd change it

for instance, when a tremble point gave a point directly on a beam. you'd have to use feel to know where the beam is and drill just beyond it

and guess what? most of the stuff we did earlier had to be changed later. super annoying. idk whether it was foreman mistakes or the engineers changed their minds. but currently in a building they have a whole set of underground pipes that aren't gonna be used

i think a computer or number crunching job is closer to ai than tradyism

seems like it wood simply be a matter of surveying and then syncing the GPS coordinates with the tradiebots

there won't be human foremen, so those mistakes you described won't occur

Tradies will be fine and always in demand.

If anything it would be easy to use robots or simply computer programs to replace 90% of office workers. They are the ones who should be worried if anyone is.

There will always bee a need to unclog toilets, fix cars, build and repair stuff. |

There wont be a demand to have a bunch of crybabies in offices doing repetitive work like putting the new cover sheets on tps reports because a computer could easily do it.
