Why is it always fat mallets that who do compound lifts and wear baggy clothes thinking they're tough guys? He was probably lifting too heavy and slamming the weight on the floor. (Ded fkn Srs)

Honestly even if he was it’s not really the issue. The tall guy is asking to get fuked up obviously. But the small guy had to put ego before smarts and would rather appear tough while not having to fight, then be ready to murder the other guy while trying to deescalate.

It’s not like you have to be a pussy either but trying to fluff your traps while telling the guy to fukk himself isn’t exactly the best move. Just laugh and tell the guy sorry you were just tryin to fit in with all the tough guys. You don’t actually want to get in a fight at the gym do you? Check surroundings (don’t want to be standing right next to barbell etc) plan the best reaction if the guy comes over and touches you and try to de escalate with jokes.

Guys who deadlift barefoot with tall socks, gym shorts and a big baggy hoody on are always, and I mean *always* annoying af.

Good point about budget gyms and the filth that frequents them. I tried a budget gym place in my area a number of years ago, and it was constantly filled with loud, annoying, obnoxious dipchits. I legit quit my gym membership early over it.

yeah. I just think it's a better operating procedure to say, "I see the work you've done on your body. Looks good. Very impressive."
Folks that get enraged at the sexual feels are so dumb. It's your dink, and your responsibility. But yeah, he was turned on/10

I mean, he was deadlifting with hex plates (which are stupid af, especially for deadlifting) right on the main gym floor without an actual deadlift station. So yes, I guarantee he was slamming the weights down loudly af, thus making it reverberate around the entire gynnand annoying everyone. Granted, in his defense, that gym probably had exclusively/almost exclusively hex plates (they usually don't have a good mixture of both kinds of plates), but then find a different gym if the place you're at doesn't have the equipement you want to use.

My gym got annoyed at me for doing hip thrusts ... then they purchased a machine specific for it, and it's one of the most popular machines now. It's on the gym owner to provide, not on the gymees to run away. How much does a deadlift platform and a set of bouncy weights cost anyway? Seems like basic stuff.

You couldn't be more wrong. If a business is able to survive while banning whatever it is they want to ban from happening on their property, that's all that matters. If them banning deadlifting like a loud jackassss doesn't stop them from having enough customers to keep them afloat, then that's up to them.

Also, I almost guarantee the guy was being a prick about it and slamming the weights harder than he needed to in order to try impressing the chick who was near them. Yeah you'll have your occasion uptight dbag who gets mad even at normal weight noises in the gym, but they are few and far between. If you're gonna do deadlifts in the main area of the gym like that without a deadlifting station or anything, you better keep your chit together and be polite about slamming the weights, or you are guaranteed to disrupt others. Whether they actually call you out on it is another matter.

Also, again, just look at the way he present himself. Long white socks while being otherwise bafefooted, gym shorts, and big baggy hoody. Not exactly the kind of fellow that inspires high confidence in the idea that he's anything other than a tool at the gym.

And manlets slamming weights at the gym is proof.

They want attention because their poor ass bitch of a dad left them as a kid.\

I always see those michellin man manlets trying to throw down their deadlifts like they think they are all hard.

Wish I can fuking **** in their mouth and make a statement to the whole gym.

I don't really have a problem with people deadlifting and dropping the bar. It's when people are screaming at the top of their lungs, now that annoys me.

Before lockdown, they didn't even allow for shoes to be off or backpacks on the gym floor.

I wear earbuds that completely plugs my ears and I do not hear anything other than my music. Towards the end of my workout according to time, I put my earbuds away otherwise I will not stop training and ya.....some guys really try to be loud.....like they are working out so hard they need to be that loud.

Them being loud is not impressive. Try just being strong at what you do.

If someone threatens to stab you, the correct move is to get the hell out of there. Trying to knock him out might actually provoke said stabbing. And it won't matter if you're in the right or not if you're dead. Either kill him or leave.
