My 7 year old just redpilled me.

We just walked into bass pro shop and he says “Dad you need to buy one of these boats so you can flex on everyone at the lake. Everyone with boats is making fun of you when we go to the lake.”

I played it off and laughed, but deep down I knew he was right. I’ve never felt the need for a boat until now.

Wut do?

The docks and loading ramps are BOATMOGGER central when the weather is nice. Dudes in $10k boats get MOGGED by $100k boats and then someone slowly cruises by in a $1M boat with a bunch of sugar babies on it and so on...

I have a 13ft zodiac with a 20hp Mercury and use it weekly from April till November. (I’m lucky to have a waterfront property so it’s parked on the water right in front which cuts lot of the ramp/trailer bull****).

It’s possibly the most enjoyable thing I do with my 5 year old (riding the rapids, fishing, going to remote islands, etc). I’ll be prolly upgrading to a 16ft/120hp next year.

I say do it OP, life flies by.

The only impulse purchase I ever made was on a tritoon. Went in to look at a pontoon with my father in law and we left with a top of the line Godfrey tritoon lol. I had the money to pay cash and to maintain it. I would never recommend buying a nice boat if you can't afford it on the spot. I know a lot of people who have taken big time losses on boats
