Why is the u.s.a so lowbrow?

Back in the u.s after living in 4 different countries..have to ask, why is this country so lowbrow and tacky?

Rural areas in the US are certainly like this.

However, I live in Philadelphia that has a million people and the reading level is 4th grade.

I have encountered MANY people who brag about not reading books. However, Philly people will dismiss not want to fight you over it like rural places I have been.

The US has a big problem with low self-esteem.

The psychologist Alfred Adler back in the 30s predicted high crime in the US and jealousy because our rich people show off so much it makes people feel terrible. So, if you are better in any way than other people because hypersensitive. So, socially, the best way to be is a dumbass with no opinions or the opinion of the crowd.
