Any Miscers Dealing with Chronic Illness?
If so how are you coping? Do you feel like it's dragging you down?
Really struggling at the moment. Relates to past major surgery (will spare the gory details) but mean only enough energy to get through the day and work and affecting sleep so badly that I'm averaging 2-3 hours sleep a night which is killing me. Seen so many docs but their powers seem limited at best.

I have an IBD condition and energy levels can be a big issue for me at times. Yesterday i was dragging. As I tell myself it won't last forever. And thankfully this morning I'm feeling more energetic.
It has been frustrating at how little help the health care system has been for my condition. I don't know why I'm even saying little - no help is a better description.

Near complete hamstring tear at the attachment site while playing sports, years back. Multiple surgeries, platelet rich plasma (x3), ultrasonic therapy, $30k worth of stem cells, nerve injections, etc. etc.
Still hurts a lot and keeps me awake.

yes I got a few health issues making it difficult to sleep an lift heavy deadlift/squat an bench (lifting part is several herniated/leaking/bulging discs in my back and neck).. I'd get surgery but positive outcome isn't guaranteed and I am not even 35 yet.. I was talking to a doctor the other day about it an I was told most of what doctors do is a guessing game to prescribe what they think will make the issue going away.. we all struggle in one way or another your not alone op

Been down for 22 years it seems
besides constant pains in my chest, i know it doesn't compare to most peoples actual pain

Damn… look at these responses… and not one of you would consider eating anti inflammatory diet, giving up your coffee, using curamin, giving up dairy, sugar, soy, omega 6s, eating out, using laser and other therapies, I guess you like pain. Ok…

A family friend was complaining about his eye pain, even had surgery on the eye, he’s telling us this while smoking a cigarette, so I shove a phone in his face with the very first Google link that says in plain English and large black and white text that smoking causes eye pain, without missing a beat he proceeded to explain to me that he is a doctor and knows everything and I’m an idiot and smoking does not cause eye pain, OK, some people want to suffer, it’s fine, carry on.

Yep, graves disease. Hyperthyroidism basically. I think it's why COVID almost killed me, I was in thyroid storm in 2016 and was in the hospital. Meds are handling it ok but I never know when a flare up will happen and I'm getting worsening thyroid eye disease.

In my case ,disc degen has nothing to do with diet
How about you go live your life instead of coming into a thread and putting people in pain down?
If you're pain free good for you
Next time you read a thread title and it has nothing to do with you, keep it moving

Had lymphoma, 6 months of chemo + 2 months of radiation, a year out still have debilitating fatigue some days to where I can barely finish work, also have huge GERD (radiation was on my throat), dry mouth, tooth decay, and lingering lhermitte's (though it has gotten a lot better than it was at the start)
I know it's not exactly a chronic illness but results are the same. It feels awful, I used to have boundless energy and perfect teeth before, but oh well, at least I'm alive I guess

hope you lads feel better.I was playing rugby and collided with another player and sheered off the top layer of my cornea(cornea abrasion) the size of a contact lens and it was hell for 6 months. It would heal and then upon waking up the new layer would stick to my eyelid and as I open my eye rip it back open, 8+ times. The pain was brutal with many visits to the ER. In the end they had to poke numerous holes into the top of my cornea to help with adhesion.
I also took a slam in ju jitsu which appeared to have caused me occasional lower back pain. Scans came back normal however.

fkng chronic headaches post concussion (playing hockey) still and I’m many years out.
Basically daily pain varying in intensity (sometimes I barely notice it sometimes it’s ibuprofen time)
I did find a hack that helps it: strict keto diet. That would reduce (but not eliminate) the headaches in my case significantly (recurrence and intensity)
I’ve done that for a while and kinda liked it, but am back on that there carbs fk it
